Ghostbuster Video Game Trailer! ZOMG! Joygasm!

Frontier

Vice Admiral

On a related note to the potential upcoming sequel, the next best thing - the Video game - just got a trailer released.

I've never had chills of nostalgia joy from a god damn video game trailer, lol...

Ray (In response to Stay Puft): It wasn't me this time, I swear it!

Egon: All my data indicates that the ghost world is beginning to push through multiple cross portals from their dimension into ours.
Peter: Well... more overtime.

OMG... I want this game more than I've ever wanted a game. Just for the god damn thematic scenes! lol

Who ya gonna call?

OMG! Cannot wait! :bolian:

*scurries off to watch the first 2 movies on DVD...yep thats my friday night...*

Between Trek in May and this in June, next year is gonna kick ass...entertainment wise

Really looking forward to this as well. I wonder how the different versions will shape up. I usually prefer the 360 releases for their better graphics. However, using the proton beams with the Wiimote could be really cool.

Cool!

Incidentally, it makes me think a CGI Ghostbusters movie could be pretty awesome, and could be a remedy for, you know, old age and body weight. We don't need no stinkin' reboot or new actors!

Oh WOW! That looked really incredible, the graphics freaking look awesome! The guys look fantastsic. I can't wait until this comes out.

The guys don't sound quite like themselves (hardly surprising, given that it's been twenty years since the movies!) but the humor's still there. When it ended, I just had a big grin on my face. Oh, please let it be good!

Hey I'm just hoping it looks decent on the PS2.

I am fortunate to have both systems around. But I guess I know where you're coming from. As long as the game's good, I think the looks shouldn't be too much of a problem, really.

The Wii and PS2 versions are the same, and there used to be some gameplay videos from the Wii version floating around somewhere, but I can't find them. If you're interested in finding out, more or less, how the PS2 version will play (excluding the differences in controls from the PS2 to the Wii), you can check out IGN's new Hands-On preview of the Wii version: http://wii.ign.com/articles/935/935419p1.html

Edited to add: IGN has some still images from the PS2 and Wii versions here:

I'm too pumped. I thought it was going to be free roam, but it's looking rather mission centered.
There was an entire video of a level of gameplay somewhere online from E3... not sure where. Pretty awesome. You could use the PKE meter and cross reference Tobin's spirit guide to find out what kind of spook you were fighting.

EDIT: Here it is. Supertight. This is even sexier than the trailer IMHO as it focuses on the depth of the gameplay.

Looking at the trailer, there are a few shots of five ghostbusters (for instance, at 1:08). Are you (the player) the fifth, or is there a new character?

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

You're the fifth. Apparently, you're the "Experimental Equipment Specialist" that Egon uses as a guinea pig for new equipment (hence being able to buy upgrades), and they don't even want to know your name because of what happened to the "last one."

At least, that's according to the E3 vid linked right above your post. ;)

Poor, poor, Louis. :(

Trailer and that E3 video look awesome. This is going to be a heck of a game!

That might well explain why Rick Moranis isn't in this! :D
