Ghost07

Long-term posters may remember Ghost07. Sadly, she passed away on 18 October.

Ghost was a wonderful presence at TBBS for many years. She was an active and extremely thoughtful poster, particularly here in Misc and in the lounges, and she had a wide circle of friends at a number of other sites. After her computer expired a few years ago she was no longer able to get online and thus was cut off from the many people across the world who were fortunate enough to know her. She greatly missed being able to interact with her online friends.

Ghost was the kindest, most caring, considerate and genuinely decent person I've encountered at this board. I'd love to have been able to meet her in person. I wish I'd given her even half as much as what she gave me.

Requiescat in pace, Marie. Thank you for everything.

Thank you auntiehill and Orac Zen for sharing this sad news with us. :(

Ghost was a wonderful poster who always brightened everyone's day and was always ready with helpful advice and kind words even when things were difficult for herself.

I'm sorry to hear she didn't have access to a computer for the past few years. That's a shame knowing how much enjoyment and fulfillment she got out of her online friendships here. :(

I don't care what age they are, they always passed too young when it's someone as vibrant and full warmth as Ghost. Rest in peace.

I fondly remember all of the fun and crazy ‘adventures’ in the lounges a *long* time ago which Ghost was a part of. A few of the other posters that were also involved in the lounges (and the board in general) all that time ago are also now sadly gone too. :weep:

It is really strange watching the cycle of life and the world in general play out like this via a text based message board. It sometimes makes what you read not seem ‘real’ as there is no physical experiential context to it which can be related to.

I doubt that any of her family will read this though some of her friends may do so, so my condolences and deepest sympathies as I know that this loss is very real. I think that a special thanks need to go to the TrekBBS (and other) members who stayed in touch with Ghost ‘offline’ when access was not as readily available for her. A long while ago I actually got a blank bound note book for her to write a book in along with some mindfulness colouring sheets to post out to her… but I never sent them, they are at the bottom of my cupboard in my bedroom still. :weep:

Rest in peace Ghost.

Shit. :( We actually had a thing set up to exchange Christmas cards for a while, before her health declined and she lost computer access. She'll be missed.

Oh no! :(
Ghost was such a sweetheart, always fun, always engaged in the community. She will be sorely missed. :(
