Getting old sucks.

2nd-Axiom, I know exactly how you feel...I feel the same. The last time I was at the dentist he said you know your blood pressure is high? I said yeah...he said you know that can kill you? I said hopefully.

Seriously, how can anyone be happy about life when it sucks, nothing you do helps and nothing you can do changes it.

Well, I try to be happy despite my circumstances. This morning I got up and walked outside, and was greeted by a warm gust of wind. The sky was blue and clear, and I could hear birds chirping, and all was quiet. I savor moments like those, and they help me keep going.

There are things in everybody's life that they do not like and cannot be changed. The way I look at it, they will remain unchanged whether I am miserable or happy-- so I might as well be happy. :)

I completely agree.

^ I agree. Sometimes I think my life has been an experiment in terror and I am the lab rat looking for that piece of cheese. But I can either look at all the bad things or find the positive, the hope, in my existence. I choose hope. Trust me, if I wasn't a "glass half full" kind of a guy, I would have offed myself by now. I have lived through enough darkness for two lifetimes but I refuse to bow down to it.

I have to think that the reason I'm still here is that, like you, I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy. It drives me forward, that I will experience a sustained level of happiness. Yesterday was just a bad day, it really was, and I kept dwelling on something I can usually keep under control. I do feel better today, and hope I don't feel another one of those days any time soon!

Age is a state of mind. If you keep in shape, eat the right kinds of food, drink plenty of water, protect your skin and don't see yourself as being old you can always feel young. Don't buy into age milestones like 40 or 50. Don't let younger people make you feel obsolete. Just embrace your inner youth and never let it go.

So don't put a blue rinse in your hair, don't put on those old man overalls, don't find yourself at a bingo hall. Fight it I say.

just filter your water and reuse a bottle. Too many empty plastic water bottles in the landfill already.

Does anyone else find it ironic that we now pay $1 a bottle for a bottle on water but as kids we loved drinking from the garden hose?

Life is not that difficult to work out, your born one day and you will die one day, all easy enough.......its just the wee bit in the middle between those two bits that most of the problems occur.

Best advice i can give is just ignore it, eventually it will go away of its own accord.

ive never given much thought to getting older, really i only notice because everyone under 20 is 12 in my head now. im closing in on the big 3-0 which doesn't really bother me, but maybe i'll find the 5-0 more disconcerting. who knows.

Getting old may suck . . . but it's better than the alternative!

Keep that in mind and you'll feel better.

^ Is that an Udat sighting? Oh my gosh! Why hello there. Long time no see!

And Axiom I am sending good thoughts... and to Jetfire as well. *hug*

Thanks. :)

I keep thinking about these quotes from ST: GEN...

They say time is the fire in which we burn. Right now, Captain, my time is running out. We leave so many things unfinished in our lives.

It's like a predator; it's stalking you. Oh,you can try and outrun it with doctors, medicines, new technologies but in the end, time is going to hunt you down... and make the kill.

And i like what comes AFTER those quotes:

"I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived." :)

Thats nice to think about. :)

GEN is a great movie to watch when you are worried about getting old and stuff. Makes me feel a little better.

I hear everyone on getting older!!! Just yesterday I did some work for my Aunt(which was loads of fun by the way!) and I was talking to another volunteer. I told her how old I was and she was like: YOU'RE HOW OLD?!?!?!?! Like it was a disease or something. But then she said: I could have sworn you were 20 or 21! Then she said: I hope I look as good as you do when I turn 29! For that, I was very appreciative! I have a couple of things to say about myself..1) I am thankful to still have a great long term memory because I'm helping Dad to remember when bills are due and 2)that i don't look a day over 19 still! When I'm 40, I'll be thankful for no wrinkles! Mom was like that too..she didn't start aging until 60.
