As an aside, I just wanted to say that it makes me very happy that the TrekBBS community has only posted positive comments in this thread. Given the current social situation in many places, there is potential for some heated discussion here. It's nice to see a large group of people from very diverse backgrounds and locations move past any conflict and unanimously support the happy couple.

To be fair, I don't think it's a case of unanimous support for the new legislature, but rather a choice not to bring the debate into this particular thread and to use Mr Takei, who many of us are very fond of, as a debating pinata.
