Well, it was probably way over the top for someone of Shatner's generation. It was a bit much at times... "graphic" being the operative word.

Yahm that's a few years old, and I remember being rather uncomfortable watching it when it aired.

For a traditionally non-comic actor, he had a really great sense of timing and was spot-on with his delivery. Bam.

I had the pleasure of escorting Mr. Takei through my university a couple years ago (on a slick fluke, too. I wasn't on the welcoming committee, I happened to see him overhead through a window, then ran my ass down!). He felt that he was getting roasted, too, so he had to make sure to give as good as he got
