Nope. Not buying that. That's the ol' "it's a children's movie!!!" excuse. There was a time when Star Wars was a self contained mythology. That time is past. We've had Rogue One and Solo, none of which have anything to do with fairy tales. I think LFL was ready to let the story break out... until they weren't.Because, at the end, it is a fairy story. Fairy stories don't go many new places. I think Episode 9 was new enough to be entertaining, while owning a lot of concepts from the rest of the Saga.
However, it definitely left me wishing that we had more with Rey, Finn and Poe together.
