This week, I went with one of my favorite TV actors, Richard Burgi. A familiar face on American TV, he has had recurring roles on "24," "Point Pleasant," "Judging Amy," "Desperate Housewives," "Las Vegas," "The District," "Viper" and many others. He has guest starred on shows such as "Firefly," "Just Shoot Me," "CSI," and "Reaper."

(wiki) Born in Montclair New Jersey, he started his acting career in New York, with roles on the soap operas "Days of Our Lives," "Another World" and "As the World Turns." Later, he landed the lead in the short-lived "One West Waikiki" and he was then cast as the villain in the short-lived genre show, "Viper." That role led to his being cast as the Detective Jim Ellison in UPN's sci-fi action show, "The Sentinel."

His film roles include Cellular, In Her Shoes, Starship Troopers 2, Hostel 2, Darklight, Decoys and the upcoming remake of Friday the 13th.

An active surfer and environmentalist, he is supporter of both the San Clemente-based Surfrider Foundation, which works to protect and preserve shoreline and coastal environments, and the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, a Laguna Beach volunteer-run and funded organization which tends to the needs of sick or injured seals, sea lions, and other marine mammals. The Moonridge Zoo and Animal rescue in Big Bear, California, renamed their annual celebrity fundraiser, "Sentinel Day," due to the two lead actors' involvement in their cause.

So, he's a nice guy, but is he a hunk? You be the judge.

Yeah he sounds like a nice guy. But I have this thing against male pattern baldness... I'm shallow, I know. Hate me. :(

The original two-faced character of 24. And no love for pattern baldness? I've found the cure for that...a sharp razor!

He was really creepy in "24." I loved that sad look on his face when he smothered the teenage girl. He makes for a good bad guy.

His turn in "Reaper" was pretty good, too. I can see why Gladys went for him!

I'm normally all about the beefcake. He's handsome enough but he's not doing it for me. I vote "meh".

Too beefy for me! Thumbs down, and I swear it's not 'cause of the hair! Though I agree with the comment above that the best answer to it is a razor.

Too much of a jarhead for my inner chick, but the fact that he helps animals would overcome that. Thumbs up.

You know, I sort of understand that sentiment. When I first started watching "The Sentinel," I wasn't at ALL interested in him, or his character; I was in love with his shorter, smarter partner. I thought Richard's character, Jim, was too much of a jarhead. But now I like him, too. He's got a great way of not taking himself so seriously.

By the way, here's a pic of the actor who played his buddy, Blair Sandburg. The actor's name is Garett Maggart:

Holy FUCK---was I in love with him! Of course, he's not been nearly as successful in getting TV work as Richard--and he's since cut his hair (sigh!).
