Genre Hunk of the Week 6/03/08: James Callis

By suggestion, this week's choice is James Callis, better known as Gaius Baltar on the re-imagined "Battlestar Galactica" mini-series and TV series. For that role, he has won a Best Supporting Actor Saturn Award, a Peabody Award and an AFI award.

This British actor was born and raised in London and is descended from Russian and Polish immigrants. He has appeared in various theater, television and film productions, especially the so-called "sword and sandal" TV movies, including "Helen of Troy", "Arabian Nights" and "Jason and the Argonauts." His film credits include the Bridget Jones films and One Night with the King.

Married with two sons, his hobbies include playing the guitar and the piano.

I vote thumbs up. I'm into scruffy-hot, and Callis is.

But that is purely for James Callis, the actor. The character of Baltar is one of the most self-centered, cowardly, All About Me characters to ever grace the screen of a scifi show....and while I think Callis is hot, I think Baltar is revolting.

Which IMO says alot for Callis' acting.

That said, even tho' this guy is really hot, he is STILL only the second-hottest actor on BSG. Jamie Bamber kicks his ass.

I think the first one, because then there'd be a 3-way catfight that you'd both lose.

The second option, we'd just knock each other over running away from the non-hunk.

We need to do a poll on Lee Pace next. I just saw The Fall. See it see it see it!!! (Quickly because it won't be in theaters long, I think there were five people in the theater with me.) The reviewers who complain "its boring" or "it looks like a perfume ad" are insane, it's great!!!

Also, has anyone suggested Robert Downey, Jr. yet?

Ew, he's short too? Another turn-off. The taller the better for me. I need a man to be at least 6'.
