Generations is the next Rifftrax

Star Trek: Generations - truly a loving gift from one generation to the next. Much like that 15-pound, 10 percent water-added Danish ham that your uncle Clark who lives in Rockford mailed to you on Thanksgiving, the one that cracked open in transport and arrived at your doorstop in a brine soaked box, stinking like a week old corpse. Yes, this is the legendary Star Trek that at long last teams two of the series' most enduring elements - Scotty, and a size 74 uniform. Not to mention a performance by respected British actor Malcolm McDowell that can only be described as, well, dis-un-respect-ulating. And Klingon cleavage? Generations has it in great heaping mounds!

Mike and Kevin Murphy climb once more unto the breach for a fun-filled, intergenerational riff.
Linky.
New Rifftrax are typically available on Friday.

While you wait, be sure to watch the Star Trek V and Star Trek VI Rifftrax. They're both classics.

Haha...nice. Interesting to see they started with 5 and proceeded from there. I wonder if they are eventually going to do the rest of the TNG films (or go back and do the others).

I use to have the ST5 one, but I lost it when my computer fritz.

I just saw the ST6 one and it was quite good. Looking forward to this next one!

6's WAS pretty good. I don't own TFF so I've not listened to the 5 RT. I suspect they'll get around to doing the other Trek films (along with the other SW movies and Matrix movies two other franchises they've done) before too long.

So, these people ask you to pay them so you can listen to them making smartass remarks while you're watching a movie?

For me, that's taking the 'home theatre' experience too far...

Well, they are professionals.

Both the 5 and 6 riffs were great.
Too bad only Mike and Kevin are in this, the best riffs are the ones with all three.

Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy where both on the legendary series, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" where old B-grade (and worse!) movies where riffed on in a similar fashion.

Rifftrax is just an extention of that.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay to hear two other people do the same thing. I purchase Rifftrax because I know I'm going to hear some funny stuff.

It's out now.

My Generations DVD hasn't arrived yet, so somebody else want to chime in and tell us what they thought of it?

SAMPLE is up.

I'm downloading it now and will start watching it here in about 20 minutes or so. Looking forward to this!

 at the clip.

(Data reacts to the drink in 10Fwd)
Mike: Ah must be Jagermeister.
Data: I hate this! It's revolting!
Guinan: More?
Data: Please.
Mike: Yep it's Jagermeister all right.

:guffaw:

OMG! I'm just at the part where Harriman decides to go get Lakul and I can't breathe!

Mike's impression of Sulu is too much! :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

This one is a MUST for Rifftrax, MST3K and Trek fans!

!!!!

"Sir, the Lakul's hull is down to 12%."
Servo, er... Kevin: "Damn hulls these days. They have no integrity!"

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

God. This is making up for Volume 11!

Yeah I loved Mike's Sulu in the previous two movies.

Kirk: "Standard Orbit, Mr. Sulu."
Mike/Sulu: "What, no Deluxe Orbit, sir?"

Picard: "Guinan? ..."
Kevin: "Yeah, her last name is Cologist."

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Oh this is probably the best Trek RT yet, if not the best RT yet!

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Geordi: There seems to be some kind of dampening field in here. It's blocking our comm signal. Can you shut it off for us?
Soran: Of course. I'd be only too happy to.
Soran punches Geordi in the face.
Mike: Ah, the shut off button must be on his face and you must have to press it really hard.

And Kevin's take on Soran: Shouldn't he have a sack of gold and a Colt revolver?

I need to re-watch this track tonight.

But, on the movie itself I realized some things as I was watching it the biggest one being that, overall, it's a movie I don't really mind all that much. It's actualy, kind of, nice. If the Picard's Nexus bit wasn't so saccharine and silly (not to mention OOC for Picard) and the fight scene is a bit silly plus the Kirk death. But, overall, I don't think it's too bad a movie. :)

I loved the tecnobabble ramblings Kevin and Mike did while Kirk was fixing the deflector, or whatever, speaking of which...

I do think it's kind of silly that in order to get to the deflector controls you have to climb down a ladder, open a panel, press a button, and then climb back UP the ladder while the thing slides out and extends through a hole in the floor. Who the hell designed that thing? Why did the damn thing have to open up and then force the person using it to walk back UP the ladder to get to the damn controls?!

Somehow, I knew this would be a solid Rifftrax as soon as it was announced. I just bought it and am downloading now, I'll listen to it when I get home tonight.
