Generations Collectors Edition DVD

I picked up the Star Trek Generation Collectors Edition at Walmart yesterday, I also have the TUC and Nemesis collectors editions as well. Im really loving the second disc special features, especially for the TOS movies, adding alot of cool stuff such as interviews, trailers, GEN has a tribute to Matt Jeffries which I think any Trek fan would find very interesting, you see some of his early concept art for the original 1701. Apparently Gene's only instructions to him were he didn't want to see fins or flames lol.

I also saw the alternate ending for Generations and as much heat as this movie gets let's just say it would have been a million times worse had they kept the original ending. (Thank god for that test audience)

Im probably going to pick up all the other Trek movies today, I already own most of them on VHS and the Collectors edition DVD's are only $7.50 which I think the special features disk is worth just in itself.

Another cool thing about the Collectors Editions of the movies is the commentary tracks. I don’t know if you have watched Generations with the commentary on or not but if you have not I Highly recommend you do. Generations has one of the best commentary tracks I have ever heard on a dvd. Braga and Moore are very entertaining, interesting, and informative on it.

And both Braga and Moore admit that, for all the time they spent writing STAR TREK GENERATIONS, the very quickly written series finale for NextGen turned out much better. And for what it's worth, I agree wholeheatedly. "All Good Things..." would've made a terrific feature film.

I haven't gotten around to this one on DVD yet, but I can believe that the commentary is that good. Moore's BSG podcasts are highly entertaining and insightful, such that I listen to them without even having the episode on.

I just took your advice and listened to it with the audio commentary and your right that was one of the best commentarys done for DVD. I usually dont listen to them because alot of the time it's people just saying "and heres where the ship is blown up used with pyrotechnics" Nemesis is a perfect example.

Moore and Braga had alot to say and werent doing a "play by play" the whole time which was really nice.
