Generations - A new angle of the better ending

You really think that the movie would've been better if Kirk's contribution was punching a guy in the face a couple times and getting shot in the back? Pretty much all Kirk did in this one was distract Soren. In which case, Picard might've been better off seeing if he could get an Orion slave girl to help him, instead.

At least in the filmed version, it took a bit more than just fisticuffs to stop Soren.

I feel that Soran came off a bit more menacing in that ending than he did in the final version. It would also make more sense as to why Kirk would still be alive to talk to Picard at the end one last time. I don't know, I know it'll be debated forever, but I still like this one better. Oh and Kirk did much more than distract Soran. He did eveything he did in the final film, only he didn't fall from a bridge.

If picard had actually gone to the bloody launcher when he was supposed to instead of not going because of " Captains prerogative", then Kirk would not have taken the quick way down.

Still i suppose it could have been worse, we could have had the entire TOS cast standing on the bridge, making a daisy chain by holding hands so kirk could reach the launcher control, just as the bridge plummets down to the rocks below.

Oh yes berman would have loved that little finale.
