No, it's called watch the damn thing yourself. It's 10 minutes.

I said initially it was worth watching. If you don't care enough to trust me, then don't waste your time. Or mine. Your loss.
I trust you just fine.

I don't trust YouTube.

I've said it somewhere else here before - I don't think the 'Q' are nearly as powerful as they let on. Newer shows aside, I think they somehow use The Nexus to create 'false realities', just to teach lessons. I've come across an odd bit of lore during my research of ancient TREK history - according to the timeline (and if we add some Beta canon in from the novels), the Organians have been 'ascended beings' far longer than the 'Q' have. I don't personally care for that, or a lot of other Beta-bits concerning 'Q' (and the other 'godly powers' of Trek). It seems a lot of authors didn't like how omnipotent 'Q' appeared and tried to show him/them as less capable than other hyper-evolved beings.
However, a lot of that would actually fit my own supposition of them 'faking' a lot of what they do. My own personal theories are based off of his interactions with Guinan, before 'new lore' came into play recently. I've seen bits of that as well, but I am trying avoid it since I truly dislike (loathe?) some other things I've become aware of.

Still - and my point being - that the 'Q' are actually newcomers to godhood, and aren't very good at it... yet. I don't think they're evil, but rather, inept, and they've probably realized already that a lot of what they have done backfired. Which may be why 'Q' (and the rest of the Continuum) are 'trying to do better', which I think we've seen over the course of the past 25 years.

^ Well, while I don't usually indulge in novels or 'Beta canon' either - I just stick to what I see on TV, I agree (and have said so several times on this board) that on me, the Q leave an impression of a showy upstart race that's still trying to dazzle everyone with their relatively newfound abilities. I agree the (TOS) Organians 'feel' older to me, as does, for example, The Traveler, from Tau Ceti.

So basically . . . it seemed the franchise has been pushed into a corner with this illusional and false portrayal of humanity. I have heard rumors about how some writers found this premise difficult - especially when writing for Human characters. What a pity.
I've said this in many places - "use the lore to fix the lore" (or 'canon', if you prefer, since our version of 'Lore' is an evil robot LOL).

Section 31 exists. WE KNOW it exists, but almost no-one if the Federation does (I am sure the major spy groups of the other factions know, and probably laugh at the 'clueless humans' who think their little Federation is "oh so perfect"). Also, we have several instances of files being 'locked away', and whole planets under 'quarantine' (under the threat of DEATH if said quarantine is broken). This tells me the Federation is FAR from perfect. We were basically responsible for both V'ger and that Cetacean ship destroying whole fleets and gods know what else they did enroute. We've seen at least two instances where we were 'observing' primitive cultures and accidentally let the natives know. The Federation totally screws up all the time. Just think, if humans hadn't explored the galaxy, 50 billion Husnock would be alive today (which is probably not a good thing, but still, this is where 'human meddling' lead to). Nomad also wiped out an entire civilization. But how many average UFP citizens know this stuff?

On the (UFP) news, they tell us nice stories about a local puppy who was saved by Captain Archer, and how we are 'fighting the good fight' for the Bajoran people (even though we let them get taken over and pretty much enslaved for years and years without lifting a finger, because, ya know, 'war' is a bad look for the Federation). We certainly can't convince the brainwashed masses how goody-good we are if they see pictures of explosions on the news. Nope... just take that trip to Risa, or maybe that amusement park planet, while sipping your replicator koolaid. Keep smiling even though you actually own nothing and have no money... I know Section 31 are.

Haha Oh my. You are going to make people's heads explode. haha

OMG imagine that happening on the news channels on Earth in the Federation. Oooh.

Question: How was it humanity's fault the Husnock got nearly wiped out? We don't remotely have any capacity to hurt them.

The traveler was not from Tau Ceti.

The Traveler is introduced Ii "Where No One Has Gone Before" :

RIKER: And you, sir, are listed as
TRAVELLER: As Mister Kosinski's assistant. My actual name is unpronounceable by humans.
RIKER: You're from Tau Alpha C. That's very distant.
KOSINSKI: All approved and described in the Starfleet communications. Now, I would like to set up in the Engine Room immediately.

At the present time there is no method of steller nomenclature using a combination of two Greek letters. It is quite fitting that a star said to be very far away does not have the designation of any star with a known distance. Thus Tau Alpha C can be assumed to be an arbitarily large distance from Earth and the Federation, within very broad limits.

Tau Ceti, on the other hand, is very close to Earth.

My bad, Tau Alpha C. it is!

In my defense, I can only add that Beverly also mentions him as being from Tau Ceti, in Journey's end:
CRUSHER: You know that alien from Tau Ceti, the one who could control warp fields with his mind?
WESLEY: The Traveller.

And that I presumably got it from there, as I looked that episode up recently because of a discussion somewhere on this board.

The Husnock are all dead because a Douwd was 'seduced'* by a human floozy.

*Because THAT is how other races would interpret those events.

"Learn the language of the [fleas], earn their trust, and then breed with their women" - Peter Griffin would have made a GREAT Starfleet Captain.

Or as the Ferengi would say Hoo-man female

As a human I would respond to those species: 'Get your own floozies out, then, if you want such things done for your species and stop being jealous!'

Might even be more fun for us as well, if they're attractive.

And, well, it's what humans have always done in the Star Trek universe. Being the underdogs, we used the might of the Vulcans and our relatively good standing with them to forge a federation around us, lifting our technology significantly. We've basically ingratiated ourselves into the Q continuum now with Picard and Janeway. Those kind of relations serve us well.
