Uhura commanded the ship in a TAS episode once.
And Chekov did in the movies. But not in TOS.

Well then it's really a pity she never did that, Seven looked great in Science Green.
I agree that she looked good, but I think it was best overall that she didn't immediately (or eventually) join Starfleet. Making all the Maquis join in the first couple episodes was a major misstep, in my opinion.
Yep, I was going to mention that. It was "The Lorelei Signal."Uhura commanded the ship in a TAS episode once.
Psychologically, it could have been a poor move - Seven's deal was discovering her individuality. Putting a uniform on her (the clue is in the name) could have detracted from that. Conformism.
We know why, and it was stupid, but keeping the character of Seven outside of Starfleet (and the uniform, of course) was the wisest thing they could've done. Janeway forcing the Maquis into Starfleet was bad enough, and I feel the show found its footing and corrected this mistake by the time Seven came along.
Kes was never in a uniform either, although it probably would've made way more sense for her to join (and take accelerated classes) on the way to becoming a qualified Starfleet medical personnel, as we can assume her daughter did in that alternate timeline.
But then again, Kirk put Starfleet uniforms onto Captain Christopher, Khan Noonien Singh, Charlie X, and his fourteen-year-old nephew.

Seven not appearing in a Starfleet uniform was only logical in-universe, as long as she hadn't chosen what she would do with her life. But why (still in-universe, of course) those ridiculous catsuits instead of just plain civilian clothing? It cannot have been very practical, even. Wearing those high heels when the ship is in mid-combat? Though undoubtedly they would have made up some bullshit excuse of her having Borg-improved body posturing/stability had the absurdity of it ever come to the writers' minds ...
"Operation Annihilate!" was filmed from 14 February to 22 February 1967. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Operation_--_Annihilate!_(episode)
Craig Hundley/ Huxley who portrayed Peter Kirk was born 22 November 1954,. and his scenes as Peter were filmed on 15, 17, and 18 February 1967, when he was aged 12 years, 2 months, and 24 to 27 days.
It is possible that the scripts for "Operation Annihilate!" describe Peter Kirk's age, but so far as I know at the moment Peter Kirk had no official age and thus should considered to be about the age of his actor, and thus probably closer to 12 years old than 14..
or maybe exactly the opposite. after years as a borg drone, seven began the process of self discovery. something she realized fairly quickly is that she was attractive. when she transitioned out of the suit that the doctor initially provided her with, she continued to wear form fitting outfits. because she personally liked the effect.Seven ought to have no care about how her body is displayed
they make your ass look good. What are the benefits to high heels?
I believe it was only Tom Riker who appeared on DS9. I don't think Will was ever on. (I'm assuming that @Mojochi was referring to the latter in his post.)He was on every show following TNG until DIS
