Surprising considering PIC and SNW are apparently done filming their next season, and DIS is supposed to premier earlier - before the year is over in fact.
So, fans then?Just came across this special feature dedicated to Kenneth Mitchell from the Discovery season 3 blu ray.
It is both heartbreakingly sad and full of joy at the same time and Kenneth Mitchell is an inspiration. The love and camaraderie of the Discovery cast and crew is on full display
Be warned though, don't venture into the comments unless you want to see how childish, petty and hateful people who claim to be Star Trek fans can be.
Why did the human members of the crew need special permission to beam down to Earth? Wouldn’t they still be citizens?
Their passports would have been around 900 years out of date. Why did the human members of the crew need special permission to beam down to Earth? Wouldn’t they still be citizens?
If your referencing the episode they go to Earth then you have one exceedingly simple explanation. Per their lie, none of these people would have possible be born on Earth. Remember they stated they are a generational ship continuing the mission of the original crew. Since they already know the ship is from the period of 23rd to 25th centuries, that means any original humans would have been long dead...Why did the human members of the crew need special permission to beam down to Earth? We have come to trade...?Ferengi?
I love DISCO and have from Season One but Burnham becoming Captain is something I question the storytelling of. I thought Season 3 was all about illustrating that Burnham worked much better as a maverick and was not something who ever would be able to work within the rules. That she would never be a captain and that was probably good for her.
Burnham and Book are meant to be space vigilantes and adventurers. Tilly and Saru are Starfleet.
I am actually a little bit interested, cautiously so, in the president's comments if they are directed towards Burnham, that there is a difference between a wrecking ball and a pendulum. I am really hoping they explore Burnham's personality, the choices she has made, and how it informs her new job as captain.I love DISCO and have from Season One but Burnham becoming Captain is something I question the storytelling of. They threw in this random and cheaply earned "Saru was compromised and didn't follow Starfleet guidelines" thing towards the end of season 3 or something like that. It was blink and you'll miss it, but I think that supposedly made it seem like he was unsuitable for captaincy. As if Burnham has never put a foot wrong...
Yes and no. They did seem to start to be building up towards Saru being incompetent, with his obsession with finding the lost signal from his people, and his questionable choice to make Tilly acting XO. However, they ultimately had him willingly choose to resign his captaincy, rather than be dressed down and demoted.
