Bingo. Most of that is the DS, and they aren't classical characters. Nintendo needs to make a new character that is like Pokemon. Wii Sports, Wii Slut, Wii Bullshit is hardly even a game, they are mainly things that I would see being sold on a street corner for $20.
Just because you personally don't like a new IP doesn't magically stop making it a new IP. Half of those new IPs are on the Wii.
Plus the Wii Sports/Fit/Resort/etc lineup are some of the best selling games of the generation. Wii Fit has sold over 22 million copies, Wii Sports Resort 16 million copies and Wii Play over 22 million copies. They also continue to sell well, unlike many traditional games. I wouldn't be surprised if Wii Party also has sales like some of these other games.
Your trolling is pathetic. Just stop now.
Holy shit dude, the guy was defending the Wii just a few posts back and you're calling him a pathetic troll?
Farmville on Facebook has out"sold" anything Nintendo or Sony or Microsoft has come up with in the last ten years, I guess we should celebrate that as a victory for "gamers"?
Some of the games you listed (like Electroplankton) were published by Nintendo but not developed by Nintendo, so they don't even count.
If you get a hard-on over Nintendo's Wii Sports games and Nintendogs, that's fine, I don't care, but to defend the massive amount of shovelware Nintendo and other developers have dumped on their consoles lately is pretty ballsy. A bunch of college graduates with a few free months could have made Wii Sports. Perhaps they did.
And again, we all know seem to know what we're talking about here: new Nintendo IPs that
gamers actually give a shit about. Games like Metroid and Mario and Zelda, not stuff like Wii Fit that my mother and wife like. Hotel Dusk is an interesting graphic adventure game, but is that the kind of game that makes you love Nintendo?
If that sounds "elitist", fine, but we're having a conversation here and you don't seem to want to do anything but nit-pick an assertion that most people agree with. Your point is taken, that Nintendo has manufactured various pieces of intellectual property over the years. No one gives a shit, and if you'd rather them make Wii Sports 7 than a brand new, high-quality, innovative, action/adventure/platformer/exploration/whatever game like the kind that has built that company, it's pretty sad.
