Gas prices won't stay low for long...

First of all, anyone who knows ANYTHING about Earth Science knows that Carbon Dioxide is not even a significant factor in the Global Warming phenomenon.

A few groups of people who disagree.

And I disagree with them, especially since many of these groups are NOT in the Environmental Sciences. Also, many of these groups are advocacy groups trying to push an agenda. The reason so many of them focus on CO2 is because they think that's the one contributing factor that Humans might be able to control. I'm not so sure.

Also, I think I'd prefer that these groups simply show me their research instead of scaring me into action. Unlike most people, I don't respond to fear tactics. Skepticism is your friend, Captain.

Back on thread, we just had our third petrol price rise in the last week, in that time unleaded 91 has gone up from NZ$1.33 per litre (US$2.68 per gallon) to NZ$1.48 (US$2.99 per gallon) today. Fuckers!

It makes no sense. It's dropped below 34$ a barrel, yet the price at the pump is going up.

Gas is going up steadily here to in Ga. too.
I'll never believe the gas companies were not taking advantage of us last summer. I'm stubborn, and I'm cynical.

Gas prices are hovering around $1.70 around here. That's better than the price of $3.70 that we were paying around here in the summer.

Being stubborn and cynical usually doesn't help in the pursuit of the truth.

The numbers tell the truth for themselves.

I've read other columns, and blogs, and seen lots of figures to the contrary. I know that there are a number of contributing factors in the gas spike of 2008, but I refuse to believe that one of those factors was not gas company greed.

I've had time to think about this, and I believe you are wrong. I think being stubborn and cynical is essential to getting at the truth.

And yet another two gas prices later, we are at NZ$1.59 (US$3.19) for 91 now. If the oil companies keep up, we should be at the second highest petrol has ever spiked in two weeks, cunts!

Price of oil still going down, price of gas still going up. Seems odd to me.

Average it out, plot the crude price vs pump, and allow for a bit of lag time and the effect is actually that pump prices rise LESS than crude prices when crude is rising (and then fall less when crude is falling). They DAMPEN the changes in crude prices; this is actually a very good thing.

Don't take my word for it. (from gasbuddy.com, try it for yourself)

Gas is up $0.15 in less than 3 weeks, $0.10 in just the last 5 - 10 days. I paid $1.97 this morning in a N.E. suburb of Buffalo.Oil company bastards wont be happy until they have the price jacked back up sky high again.....

Q2

^ Yep, it's exactly the same here, 91 is now NZ$1.69 per litre (US$6.39 per gallon), 8 cents til it is the second highest petrol price spike ever.
