Some sad news from Spain. Rock guitarist Gary Moore, best known for his work with Thin Lizzy and collaborations with that band's frontman, Phil Lynott, has been found dead in an hotel room in Spain, while on holiday. Details are scant at the minute.

Moore, born in Belfast, was 58 years old. He was a phenomenal guitarist, marrying formidable technique, emotion and melody. IMHO, he never got the recognition he deserved.

RIP.

A shame.

He did some really mind blowing "electric blues". I think I heard some of it in maybe the early 90's.

Here he's doing a jam with the master.

That just bums me out!!
Have enjoyed his stuff ever since I was a small kid...
He is one of the reasons why I picked up guitar many moons ago.....
Rest easy, you always gave it your all!!

Just heard.

Out In The Fields was one of those albums I constantly played for over a year. Some of those songs stay with me today. Terrible news. Young, too.

Wow - 58 is way too young.

Although in the world of rock stars, I'm beginning to wonder if average life expectancy would be shorter than that of the general population. Way too many of those guys die way too young. :(

This is just a shame. Bummer.

Whoops, got the name wrong. The album I constantly listened to was the one with Out In The Fields on it, called Run For Cover. Damn good album.
