Gameswipe With Charlie Brooker

Finally got around to seeing Gameswipe. Enjoyable stuff, with quite a lot of focus on a few games there, as well as the whole "introduction to gaming" thing which was entertaining if nothing else.

I did enjoy the asides by Dara Ó Briain and Graham Linehan, and that musical review.

Me, I can't really see it as much more than a one-off, unless a potential series delved very deeply into gaming culture (and it seemed very cynical of the likes of WoW) which, as was suggested at the start of the programme, wouldn't really interest the average TV viewer and would only appeal to fans of Screenwipe and Charlie Brooker in general - but any more Brooker on the telly can only be good news.

Was disappointed to not hear his opinion of Truck Simulator, though.

There's a 3 part interview with Charlie here about Gameswipe. He's not really in to the idea of doing a series, maybe the occasional special or a short series but not an ongoing one. He has said that he might start putting games reviews in Screenwipe though.
He's also said that the ratings on Gameswipe were stronger than either Screen or News wipe.
