Games you have, but not finished?

Since I play mostly sim and MMO games, there is no such thing as "finish." On the other hand, the two PS3 games that I haven't quite fully explored or finished per se are Streetfighter IV and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm.

For the Naruto game, the only thing that I really care to play is the Battle Mode (a.k.a. Versus mode). I tried doing the Mission Mode but couldn't really get into it, which is probably why I don't care to do any FPS and adventure games. Too long-winded and the controls are often .. hard to control.

The SF4 is good to play again and again, even if it's just a mindless Versus game against the CPU. I've tried long and hard to unlock Gouken and Seth but still haven't done it to this point.

Driver 1 (got to last mission)

Oh, yeah--that reminds me.

Driver 2. I made it all the way to the third last mission, which I couldn't even come close to completing.

So finally I said, "fuck this," and shelved it.

Very disappointing.

I remember Metroid Prime for Gamecube had this boss mission that I simply couldn't beat and I wasn't really that far into the game and I just said the hell with it.

The Omega Pirate, perhaps?

Anyway, there's plenty of games I never finished, but the only one I feel worth mentioning is Shadow of the Colossus... largely because the game basically guilted me into not playing. Everytime I killed one of the Colossi I just felt.... sad. Most of the games I don't finish I just lose interest in. But not that one.

Wow, actually.... most of them.
All C&C games except Renegade
Supreme Commander series
Starcraft
Age of Empires 2
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic... could never beat (what I'm assuming was) the final mission
LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth series

Some games i never finished because of techincal issues, like it would always glitch at a mission and I didn't want to restart the entire campaign. Others, like C&C3, had missions that literally relied on pure luck, and I can only fail those missions so many times before saying screw it. Then there are others still that I have no reason why they aren't finished.

I think just a few for me

Star Ocean First Departure
Devil May Cry 4
Star Ocean 4

Both Star Ocean Games are really fun, but just so annoyingly frustrating at times that I've had to play them in intervals, so I'll be working on those for the next couple of months.

God were do i begin.....360 unfinished games.

Dead space.
Battlestations midway.
Blazing angels.
Command and Conquer.
Flatout.
Civilisations.
GTAIV.
Banjo and Kazooie.
Too Human.
BFBC.
Lost Odyssey
I will stop there because there are just to many, most i might add have been left unfinished because i lost all my save games when my 360 at the time went belly up and the guy in the shop would not let me keep my old HDD when he exchanged my broken 360...:(

PS3
Assassin's creed.
GTAIV
BFBC.
Devil may cry.
Marvel alliance.
Motorstorm.
Dark sector.
R:Fall of Man.
Condemned 2.
Lair.
Folklore.
Turok.
Conan.
Tiger Wood 07.
Haze.
Tom Clancy Vegas 2.
RR7.
Oblivion GOTY.
Unreal Torny 3.

I get these games when they are on sale and then they just sit there gathering dust.

24 hours in the day is just not enough ....

I'm only listing games where I've completed less then roughly half of the game:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Fallout 3
Folklore
Mirror's Edge
The Orange Box
Resistance: Fall of Man

I remember with Mirror's Edge, I put the game down for a few months because it was pissing me off. I jumped back into it about a week ago, and as it turns out I was only 5 minutes from the end of the game

^ Haha, that's hilarious. The reason I stopped playing it was that I was sick at the time and all the first person jumping was making me dizzy. So I stopped playing it like six or seven months ago and I haven't picked it up since.

I really need to get to it at some point though. But first I wanna get my Tomb Raider: Underworld Platinum trophy (only gotta finish the game on the hardest setting) and then I wanna play through Final Fantasy VII. ;)

I've never finished Zelda: Link to the Past. Always wanted to, but then I would start it, and then drift away from it not to pick it up until maybe a year or two later.

I have a couple of games I've bought last year when I thought I had some time on my hands, but I never got around to playing them. Most prominently: Europa Universalis: Rome, Hearts of Iron: Anthology, Bioshock, Galactic Civilizations.

Though the surprisingly well done bust of Caesar (among other things, it actually feels quick heavy, not like cheap plastic) from the collector's edition of EU: Rome has adorned my desk since then.

On the PC: Overclocked: A History of Violence, Bionic Commando, Deus Ex 1 and Deus Ex 2. I'm about 80% finished with DE1 and I'm not even going to install DE2 until I finish. I just picked those two games up two weeks ago. Never played them back when they were originally released. Overclocked I just sort of put down for awhile and Bionic Commando I'm on the last level, just need to sit down and beat it.

On the PSP: Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Rogue Squadron, Iron Man, Lego Batman, Lego Star Wars Trilogy, Flatout, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice and DragonBallZ. I recently beat The Force Unleashed in story mode, Order 66 and the Force Duels. I've soooo been neglecting my other games.

By finished I mean finished the main storyline/quest. Not 100% collected every possible thing there is.

Well that narrows it down a lot but I'm sure I've forgotten, many, many titles. A few that I can think of:

Mass Effect
RE4
RE5 (I didn't really dig 4, why I bought 5 I'll never know)
Scarface (Wii version, good game but finally got tired of it)

And countless others that I've forgotten. As I mentioned in a previous post, until the "innovation" of being able to save your progress came along, I never beat any game as I never was good enough to do so.

There are only two games I own that I have not finished.

Crimson Skies - because I hated it and got it for free.

Halo 2 - because I hated the campaign on this game. I've beat Halo and Halo 3 many many times but 2 I just can't get through before becoming terribly bored or annoyed. Played the hell out of the online multi-player though.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Couldn't be arsed to play past the first level, might give it another shot some time.

I try to force myself to finish any game I get since I already spent money on it. However, there are a few exceptions:

Starcraft - I don't like RTS games but I gave it a try since so many people loved it. Should have known better.

Neverwinter Nights 2 - I liked the game and LOVED the expansions but never cared enough to finish the final battle in the original campaign.

Civ4: Colonization - Doesn't really count since there's no real story, however it bored me to the point of tears and I never played more than a few hours.

I havent' finished Call of Duty 4 or 5, even though that's what I play the most - I just get them for the xboxlive online gameplay and don't really care about the game itself.

After my own heart. Never finished any Halo, COD or, heck, XBOX game. I buy, insert in console and activate the online multiplayer mode. Makes for a heck of a learning curve but, damnit, I don't want to fight a computer-I want to challenge living people!

Starcraft is easily the best RTS I've ever played, but if you don't like RTS games it wouldn't change your mind. Starcraft doesn't reinvent the wheel; It simply polishes it to perfection.

Although I never finished it either. I made it to the last mission in Brood War, but never completed it.
