Games that could be improved with zombies.

Yes, its Sunday afternoon and I'm bored as hell.

So, everyone loves zombies, right? Which video games can you list that would be improved immeasurably with the addition of a good old-fashioned zombie holocaust?

GTA pretty much tops my list. You?

Ooof, a GTAIV zombie mod would be awesome.

You're a Left 4 Dead style survivor with 3 other friends in the city - you can use any vehicle (all of which are abandoned) and you've got to make your way from one end of the city to the other - but roads are heavily damaged/burning/clogged with abandoned cars and bodies that it's not easy ... plus hundreds of thousands of ZOMBIES.

Nice idea. Would be fun.

Solitaire. It's bloody boring as it is, but add a zombie chase and BAM! You've got a darned good game.

Halo... oh wait.

Gears of... never mind.

World of Warcra... no.

Mass Eff... no.

Huh. Looks like most good (or at least notable) game have zombies in it.

Zombie Picachu anyone? That could be interesting, a pokémon game set in a post apocalyptic world, after the bad guys finally learned to just stab all the little kids that they fight.

I'm also going to vote for zombie Tetris, it would be epic!

I think in general there is a distinct lack of games featuring a Romero-esque zombie apocalypse. Left 4 Dead is the only modern example that springs to mind, and everything else just nibbles around the edges. Dead Rising's outbreak was quarantined to a small city, and Resident Evil's outbreaks have, at most, affected a few research outposts and poor ol' Raccoon City (sorry, but RE:Extinction is not canon).

Where's the gaming equivalent of Night/Dawn/Day/Land/Diary of the Dead? Why can't we have something on the level of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie Wars? Or even Dead Set?

I need more zombies in my life.

George A Romero did produce a zombie game for the X-Box a few years ago (it was on X-Box Classic and PC). Land of the Dead: The Road to Fiddler's Green. You played a human from Western Pennsylvania that was trying to survive. The last levels served as a prequel to the film with you trying to clear Fiddler's Green of Zombies. The last scenes directly tied into the ending of the film Land of the Dead.

He also had a zombie game under development which was to be an original game. Called City of the Dead, Romero and Savini were both heavily involved with it. The company that was developing it however went bankrupt. Portions of the game script are being converted for his new film: Island of the Dead.
