I've read the first to books and loved them taking a break . will start reading agin after I get season one on dvd . how many episodes do you think the show will run?

I answered Timothy's question. The fact is "Game of Thrones" is an unknown entity right now and it will probably depend on the ratings for the show. If they're on par with "The Walking Dead" or obviously better then it will get renewed.

If we insist on using this thread, can someone fix the spelling of the thread name? It is bugging me. It should be "Game of Thrones" (not "games of throne") for the HBO series. Or "A Game of Thrones" or the novel.

Well then frankly that is retarded. There are two "Game of Thrones" threads right now. This one and the one that was created last year dealing with the announcement. An official discussion thread should override both of these threads. The fact is this one should have been locked long ago since we were using the other one...
