He is cool... but he is not that cool.
I think he would deserve the 3rd place... on TNG or maybe even on TOS. But not on DS9. He deserves to be in top 5... maybe.
Oh, DevilEyes...
The topic is "favorite" (or rather, "favourite"

), and of course that's nuthin' but pure, undiluted personal opinion. There may be reasons or logic, but there doesn't have to be. And let's face it: In the end, facts and logic
don't matter in choosing a favorite. "Favorite" doesn't mean "best" and it doesn't mean "most important." It means nothing more nor less than...well, "favorite." How can you say a character doesn't "deserve" to be somebody's favorite?
Does rocky road ice cream deserve to be my favorite flavor? There are lots of other really great ice cream flavors! Does
Harvey deserve to be one of my favorite movies? But what about
Citizen Kane?
I mean, I'm perfectly fine with Damar not winning this little game - which is good since he probably isn't going to. And that's fine. There are lots of wonderful characters on DS9 to choose from, and while I'm pleased he's made it this far, I'm also a bit surprised. But please, let's give up this pretence that a character has to be deserving to win. All a character has to do to win is get the most points as favorite character.
