Damn, that was a fantastic episode. Very straightforward of course, with really not very many character deaths and only one real shock in that regard. I called them all except Lyanna, and honestly a little disappointed in that one, but at least she got to go out like an absolute badass. I didn't expect it of course, but it was really pretty awesome seeing old Ser Jorah come to Daeny's rescue like that. So I guess uh... that's pretty rough for the Mormonts and Bear Island huh?
Melisandre was *so* good in this one, and the moment where she lit the trenches and you saw the fire in her eyes... damn. And not her fault that the amazing moment of lighting all the Dothraki swords on fire ended up meaning... absolutely nothing. RIP Ghost, didn't even merit a death moment or corpse apparently.
Really, this whole episode was sometimes hard for me to see what was going on, but also some really gorgeous imagery too.
GOOOOO Arya! What an amazing moment, and she totally deserved it. You fucking go, I loved it. My only complaint is it was... really kind of unfortunate the way that played out? Not the suddenness and unexpected finish, but... I dunno, did we kinda render everything about Bran over the show a little pointless? That whole last minute death and explosion with no lore, no real confrontation... can something be anticlimactic and awesome at the same time?
What a great finish to the show though, damn. Well done everyone.
Oh.. wait. You mean there's still stuff with do with the jackass down at King's Landing? I am rather disappointed that Cersei isn't gonna have to deal with any consequences for sitting out the fucking apocalypse. Everything after this is gonna feel kinda... petty I think.
The idea that the show was about good versus evil should have been squashed the moment Ned Stark’s head went away.
Of course, the very first scenes were about how humans have these petty squabbles that amount to nothing because the dead are coming for them all.
