Spoilers Game of Thrones: The Final Season

Yup, that sums up my expectations of the episode.

...which probably means we're both way off the mark and something entirely different and batshit crazy will happen instead. ;)

My Mum (casual watcher) is convinced that the ice dragon will recognise her mother- - see the other dragons and turncoat - kill the Night King.

Consistent characterization says that Daenerys, who has generally favored mercy when there wasn't a necessary goal to achieve, gives that speech to demonstrate how much she is defying family tradition as she pardons Jaime. (Crucifying the Masters was simple lex talionis. Executing a general who refused to surrender his army was military necessity.) Very, very, very few people favor Christian forgiveness (as the number of discussions about redemption show.) Indeed, quite a few people favor greater punishment for lesser crimes when they are committed by the bad/homely/less sexy/uppity/etc. people. Tyrion murdering his father for making him feel bad, or murdering Shae for saving her life by complying with Tywin are an excellent example. That's why people are so pleased about how Tyrion condemned Theon for not suffering, as if Tryrion himself did.

It is almost certain that Jon will not realize Jaime murdered his grandfather. But Jon will want Jaime's command experience. And he will imagine I think that Cersei might view him as a kind of hostage, that Jaime can be leverage. And he will be pleased at Daenerys' pardon.

I think that Sansa will not trust Jaime, as he is unreliable on Cersei and will want him imprisoned or killed for that alone. And she will not think Jaime is leverage. She might think his execustion a blow against Cersei's prestige. But I think Sansa will also be angry at Daenerys for making a show of mercy, as it is to someone who doesn't deserve it, and therefore it is an act of duplicity, if not tyranny. If Sansa finds out about Aegon Targaryen, she will think Jon's motives suspect. And, no matter what Bran may say, she will think death for crippling is better than that sissy's rule of an eye for an eye, that Jaime should pay a higher price than Bran because he's a bad person.

But the producers may want to pick up their character assassination of the revolutionary and BS this. So we'll see.

One question, not entirely sure of the lore.
Do all Targaeryan‘s have Fire immunity or just Daenerys?

Neither.

Dany isn't immune to fire because she's a Targaryen in either the books or the television series.

In the books, the birth of her dragons was a miracle occurrence, but her ability to survive fire in the TV series has gone unexplained and is unique to her.

Especially since her brother didn’t seem to have any immunity to the heat that came from the molten gold that was dumped on his head. Dany’s immunity appears to be unique and strictly dragon-based.

Yep.

It's also entirely possible, if not likely, that Dany's fire immunity ends up as a "TV-only" story point alongside things like Yara (Asha) Greyjoy's bisexuality, Barristan Selmy's death, Robb marrying Talisa Maegyr, and much of the Season 5 story in Dorne.

I expect Bran to save Jaime’s ass. He will say he has forgiven Jaime because the incident helped him become the Raven. Also, being a know it all, will list all the good things Jaime has done. Tyrion and Brienne will provide confirmations for those.

The worst part was knowing this episode was going to end like that. I probably should’ve waited and binged these all in a big epic conclusion.

Now we know what the Night King’s motives are.

Daenerys did not take the news well.

It looks like Theon can travel even faster than Varys or Littlefinger

Arya got hammered :), one of my friends will be disappointed because she insisted that Arya has never been interested in boys.

Nice to see that Brienne got knighted but I was hoping she would turn around and knight Pod.

We saw Ghost.

I expect a lot of people are going to complain about the back half (or maybe the entirety of the episode) because it took too long to get to the battle itself, but that's precisely why I absolutely love this episode. That delay gracefully demonstrated the long, impatient wait for the unavoidable and impending battle with that terrible fear gnawing just around the corner. I loved how we saw different characters coped with that fear and impatience, whether in gathering with friends, former enemies, or until recently, complete strangers. They traded stories, songs, and courtships of love. All before the long night.

However, the best part of the whole sequence was Jaime deciding that he could and must knight Brienne. That was a long time coming! I also loved Sam bequeathing Heartsbane to Jorah and I strongly suspect one of them will die because of what Sam said in parting.

Leading up to that atmospheric back half of the episode, there were a number of wonderful moments between each characters, none more awaited than Jaime's judgment at Winterfell. As expected Tyrion and Brienne stood in his defense and the latter was enough to sway Sansa and that was enough to sway judgment. Many of us expected Bran to speak in his defense to, but at the same time, I'm not surprised that his only contribution was a bone-chilling (for Jaime only) citation of "The things I do for love." Their encounter in the Godswood was another wonderful moment with Jaime apologizing and Bran more or less saying "I'm glad it happened...for both of us."

But my favorite exchange of the episode (prior to the back half) was between Sansa and Daenerys. Their tit-for-tat was riveting as they went back and forth between trying to reach an understanding for Jon's sake to one upping the other for the sake of their pride and birthright. In a longer season and a longer show, I would've loved to see that dynamic develop and seeing whether to became friends or rivals. Or both.

On the contrary, felt that this one worked better than last week. Calm before the storm, but in a natural way. And had several plot beats as well

Forgot to mention: My only complaint about the whole episode is that we should've gotten a far longer exchange between Jorah and Lyanna! Trying to keep her from fighting, for shame, Jorah!

So Jon Snow's in the dog house for now then?
