Okay, granted having molten gold (or molten anything) poured over your head would be disasterous - shock, skin and hair burned off, probably seared down to the bone - but would it be instantly fatal the way we saw? I mean, no vital organs were actually damaged. Unless his brain boiled.. I'm picturing more of a lingering, screaming, slowly succumbing to madness and pain kinda death.
I really didn't like that guy.![]()
Yeah, the melting point of gold is 1064°C. Bone doesn't melt at any temperature, it will only burn--at around 800-900°C. I imagine the gold would've disintegrated his scalp almost immediately, but would not have gone through the bone as quickly as he died. Hmm, where to find a volunteer to test this?
You could just as easily say the shock of the whole thing gave him a severe heart attack, which did him in.
Unless there's a vacuum between his skull and his brain (not that implausible considering his behavior) it's a safe guess a good amount of that heat was absorbed by his brain which is pretty important to living.
I thought the episode was great and didn't mind most of the changes. Although Tyrion's confession's didn't work for me since they felt like lines from a contemporary show that was slightly changed to fit this one. I was disappointed that the dire wolf scene was cut but I can understand why... but at this point you have to wonder why they even exist in the story given how little they have to do.
Episode 7 was also great. the only thing that sucks is that it'll be another week before episode 8 comes out.
