Here's link to the podcast interview with Neil Marshall, the director of the episode:

Several interesting things from there:
- Almost all the gore was his addition.
- Stannis climbing the walls of King's Landing and fighting there was also his decision.
- He tells, perhaps jokingly and with some level of exaggeration, that one of the executive producers urged him to add the full frontal nude scene to the brothel scene.

An excellent episode that lived up to its considerable expectations.

- Lots of good snark from Bronn and we got to hear the Rains of Castamere! The prostitute sitting on Bronn's lap was the same one that Ros was auditioning with for Littlefinger in the infamous sexposition scene from the first season. She's been seen a couple of times earlier this season, too.

- Sansa mocking Joffrey to his face - "of course you'll be in the vanguard" - was awesome.

- The wildfire explosion was epic!

- Cersei and Sansa's scenes were excellent, with both actresses delivering big time.

- Great motivational speech from Tyrion. "Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them!" Hah!

- The editing of the final sequence was excellent, with Tyrion's shock at the wound he received and Tywin and the Tyrells sweeping in to save the day just in time to stop Cersei from killing herself and Tommen.
