W/o getting spoilerish I wonder if the battle's going to be simpler than the one in the book... seems that way from the promos. Still looks awesome though. :D

Update: found this on Twitter

“@ConanOBrien: I might be watching too much “Game of Thrones” because I won’t eat shrimp without first subjecting them to a loud, public beheading.”

Thought it was great. As a HUGE fan of the books, I was somewhat nervous going in, but the whole thing was handled very well. Of course Martin writing it himself helped. Yes, there were a couple of things cut, obviously for the budget, but they didn't really make THAT much of a difference overall. I just have one minor quibble with a character showing up at the end, but that's nothing really.

I hope we get another score release for season 2. The music has been really great this year. The credit version of The Rains of Castamere tonight was awesome!

Giving Spartacus a run for its money in the violence department.

Who was that with Cersei at the end? Another son? I have to read the books at some point, or maybe a rewatch, I get kind of lost sometimes.

Good grief, that rocked... and I agree that GRRM condensed things quite nicely.

Drunk Cersei is just about as scary as wildfire.

Holy Mother of God and all her wacky nephews. . . wow. . what an episode. . .Is Martin contracted to write the penultimate episodes on all the seasons? If I'm remembering correctly, he wrote Baelor, too. . .

Oh my god!!!!

First of all, I don't think there's been any other episode that just focused on one storyline, but man it was needed here. Unfortunately I have a feeling all the other storylines are going to be rushed next week which makes me wish we had like 2 more episodes this season.

Other than that, what an episode. Loved the song at the end and there was just way too much epicness going on. Man I hope Tyrion doesn't die. That would suck greatly.

I love The Hound telling Joffrey essentially to F**k off.

Loved the wildfyre explosion and the back and forth of the battles.

Like most battle sequences, it got a bit tedious by the end, but the initial wildfire spectacle was sublime.

Outside of that, I'm a bit curious what people's opinions are as to why the Hound decided to proverbially shove his middle finger up the King's asshole.

Excellent. Amazeballs. :D

That wildfire explosion was epic... A moment very similar to the TTT Helms Deep explosion.:eek::eek:

I need to rewatch it to digest it properly. It wasn't perfect - but then again I spent most of the time probably making mental comparisons to the book battle. The weakest scenes were probably the ones with Sansa. But it is possible that I will re-evaluate the episode parts as I rewatch.

Fucking brilliant episode, but with everything that has happened, I'm wondering if well get
Joffrey's wedding and death
a little sooner?

Edited spoiler warning - it's not a spoiler about next week, that's a spoiler about way way later! - AF

Please label your spoilers better. Do not click unless you have read the books. And no, I doubt it will be accelerated.

I've read the books several times, and I still wanted Stannis to win. Stephen Dillane is perfect for the role and I liked how the show made him so badass, that he was the first to charge everywhere, without a helmet.
Drunk Cercei was great, The Hound telling Joffrey to fuck off was great, Tyrion's motivational speech was great. In fact, the only thing in this episode that wasn't great is that it eventually ended.

It was one of the best hours of TV ever.

Please no spoilers on this from the book readers, but I would find it hilarious if The Hound and Sansa heading north end up running into Brienne and Jaime heading south.
