I loved all the humor in this episode. Arya revealing her secret to Gendry was pretty much exactly like in the book and both actors performed very well. There's some good chemistry there.
The Yara reveal was funny too.
"But she's a girl!!"
"You're the one wearing a skirt."

Even LF's bordell scene was funny before the Roz-part.

Very impressed by Balon Greyjoy. Exactly as I had imagined him.

Shame about Rakharo, though. I liked him in season one, but i hear the actor was too busy with World War Z.

Clearly not, or you would have waited until the season finale.

Anything remotely serialized works better that way. It flows better, the plot points are all fresher in your mind. The truly patient individual would wait for an entire series to air before plowing through it.

There's a limit to how much you marathon before you get burned out or fall asleep, though. I love the LOTR films, but I just couldn't watch more than two at most in a row.

When I have caught up with some TV series using Netflix, I usually watch 2 or 3 episodes per night. But then with kids & work, my time is limited.

Well, sure, you have to eat and stuff, and live your regular life if you happen to be burdened with one

2-3 eps a night is pretty decent. Over a period of weeks is better than over a period of years.

The Greyjoy stuff was the highlight of the episode. I loved Balon's and Asha's (screw the name-change) interaction with Theon. His homecoming definitely wasn't what he expected

I thought the 2nd episode was much better, but still disappointed that certain characters haven't appeared yet. Maybe I'm wrong here since it's been a long time since I've read the books, but there were some major deviations from the books near the end of that episode no?

I unscrupulous in my watching of this show anyways, so what the hell?

Pretty good episode, though the brothel stuff is unnecessary as always. Is it just me, or is Littlefinger being characterized as an unsubtle, evil with a capital E bad guy in the show. I mean, he's clearly not a good guy in the book, but here he's not even trying to hide it.

I think there's some kind of rule that Tyrion needs to have at least one moment of total badassery per episode. This episode's is the scene between him and Janos. Just awesome.

Theon's bit was deliciously awkward. Seeing him groping Asha (I refuse the call her Yara, as well) while knowing what I know was just hilarious.

They also confirmed that which had only been hinted at in the books, namely that Stannis was banging Melisandre. That seems to be a theme here, with them confirming Renly/Loras last year.

Lastly, it seems we end with our first major deviation, namely John spying on Craster and getting caught. I think this also makes two episodes of baby murder in a row. Yikes, this show is dark.

The baby didn't necessarily die. The suggestion I always read into that line in the book was that they literally take the sons for some purpose, not just to kill them.

That scene confirmed it for me, red heads are fiery and yummy and me want some.

I liked it a lot, it'll be interesting to talk to some of my friends who haven't read the books after they see it... I wonder how it's fitting together for them.

Littlefinger was chilling.

I liked it. There's a pattern in the show, however, that continued in this episode: Any scene that comes straight from the books is awesome, while scenes that are invented for the show are hit or miss. For example, the (truncated, from book point of view) meeting of Theon and Asha (or Yara as they call her here) was superb; pretty much every Theon scene was good, and all straight from the book. The dialogue between Gendry and Arya was great too. Salladhor Saan was great.

The stuff with Roz and Littlefinger, not so much. Perhaps that is just my book-reader prejudice though.

It was great to finally have a real scene with Davos Seaworth, he looks like he will be a great character on screen.
