Bloody excellent!!!

The visual scope of the show is so impressive. All the establishing shots for the locales look like they have twice the budget now compared to season 1.

My favorite part as a book reader was the Dragonstone stuff. And Bran's stuff. But everything was great.

A pretty good start to the season though it feels a bit rushed. The season just started but I already feel like the season is going to need an extra 2 or 3 episodes (assuming this is a 10 episode long season)

I went with Above Average, which for Game of Thrones is still excellent compared to most TV. After the consistently great quality of the first season, I think I'll reserve my Excellent votes for the episodes that truly are.

I absolutly loved it. Great setup episode, to bad we know little about Carice von Houtens character.

I wonder if any of our British friends are bothered by Dinklage's accent? I can't figure out if it's deliberately trying to be like that, or if Peter just can't pull it off. He's a tremendous actor, but to me that accent sounds so forced.

I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END! The credits started rolling and I was still fully engaged.
Fantastic show!

Don't see how they get this season out in 10 episodes, especially seeing as how the first 5 min of this one was a recap of last season. Feels like we're going to have to start compressing or dropping a lot of things to make this all fit...

Or moving things to the next season..

Grey Wind is bloody huge!
And it looks like Cersei is starting to lose control of Joffrey...and she's just made a very bad enemy of Littlefinger there.

Apparently European outlets are releasing episode 2 on HBO GO a week early. Very strange.

There is a screen cap of Ghost pulled off the site.

For those that missed it after the credits, here is the "coming up this season" 2 minute spot that aired afterwards:

They can do A Clash of Kings in ten episodes, easy. It's A Storm of Swords where things start to get too big.

I read in one of the other GOT threads that they are not adapting the story novel by novel. Most of this season is obviously based on A Clash of Kings, but they're pushing some stuff back into season 3 and are showing some things from A Storm of Swords this year. They'll make the story of each season fit into ten episode seasons by changing the timeline of events etc.
