It and the ship orbits a world, and suddenly a Borg latches onto a ship and starts assimilating. I'm surprised the Borg never dropped assimilation mines, for lack of a better term, near Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Tholian, etc. space.

I am not sure, than are they still "alive" ? It seems reasonable that, they can survive at Arctic conditions, but space? Was there any such case? Hmm, I cannot remember, do you?

Well, those Borg in "REGENERATION" survived an exploded deflector dish, whatever time they were in space in orbit of Earth, and the Arctic for close to a century. Yeah, I say it's possible.

It is a good question, diving stroies of Trip and Archer can be count on? I wish, they had a journey to Argo like planet, instead of meaningless remarkes like Precious Cargo, Dawn etc.
