It's been a very busy two months... Galileo is coming along very well. Pictures below.

Galileo restoration will be complete shortly. There will be an unveiling in New Jersey.

Best yet, my wife and I are donating her to Space Center Houston, NASA's Visitor Center and their dedication is scheduled for July 31, 2013.

Oh, WOW!! Now that´s definately a classic worth restoring - great work :techman: And to donate it to NASA, so that everyone can enjoy and appreciate it calls for a huge round of applause :techman::techman:

Beautiful work. Glad to see this massive prop being respected and loved and brought back to the way it was*

*looking at you, Smithsonian Enterprise!

Please tell us they're going to keep it indoors and not out in the parking lot, because we've seen that movie before. :)

It's looking absolutely AMAZING! I really think it'll look better than the original ever did, partly because of modern materials but also because of the extra care given with a lot more time allotted. It's still rather incredible how great the original prop turned out given all of the constraints.

I imagine Galileo is pretty closed to being finished by now....it's like the calm before the storm!

I can tell you that she is beautiful!!!!

I'm sure 1000's of photos will be flooding the net after this weekend :)

There are some pics from somebody's (John Moffett) Flickr stream available at the Trekweb site. Everyone is jam packed inside the building where it was refinished so it's hard to see the entire shuttle but what I see looks great.

Hopefully they will wheel her out in the parking lot where better pics can be taken.

Link deleted...looks like the pics are now private. Well, at least I got a chance to see the restoration...hope to see official pictures soon!
