Galaxy Class Starships 20 years later, What changes Occur ?

Re: Galaxy Class Starships 20 years later. What changes Occu

Maybe it'll look something like this ...

Yes please :)

Re: Galaxy Class Starships 20 years later. What changes Occu

I'm assuming as the design matures they would build different one-offs and special versions... Maybe a hand-full of AGT battleships, a couple with Sovvie-style nacelles... a couple with mission pods.

Mostly the ones already built would have tons of internal upgrades, I recall reading somewhere that there was lots of internal volume to spare yet so maybe we'd go 2-3 refit cycles before a TMP-style rebuild?

I think we would see variants with different style nacelles representing improvements in warp tech. Possibly something similar to 1701-E.

I think that alot of the "minor" tech would be updated...holographic viewscreen, weapons upgrades, stain resistent carpeting.

Patrick Weber of the old USS Miranda used to have a more realistic "Galaxy refit" design which does exactly that. The nacelles look a bit more like those of the Ent-E (but still flat at the top). Furthermore, the dark areas at the back of the Ent-E's saucer are also placed onto the refit Galaxy.

Interesting take, I like it.

What? Stop looking at me like that.

Those side weapons there look fanboyish. How can the captain see the starfield on the port side with the port side weapon blocking the view?

Ok we need someone to put the AGT cannon on that version above and a third nacelle and those weapon-pods as well. Also the fins. :p

We'll call it the EPIC FANBOY CLASS. Other ships in the class include the USS RAGING BONER, USS WET DREAM, USS ZOMGWTF and the USS ALL YOUR BASES BELONG TO US. :D

^^^ I'm game, I love the Fanboy wank AGT Version of the Galaxy :) :)

Too bad we can't have a return episode to "Force of Nature", the "warp drive will tear the universe apart"-and-such episode...

Picard: We had a refit.
Doctor Rabal: ... You're such an assh*le.

LaForge: Captain we have a coolant leak in te warp core!!!
Picard: Which one?
LaForge: All of 'em Captain, I'd have told you sooner but do you have any idea of how many closing doors I had to roll under to get out of engineering!!!!

We'll at some point somebody is going to add some racing stripes.

SquigglyFM, I laughed my ass off at that picture.

I think you're misunderstanding the reason why *I* like the AGT Refit.

It's not because it has a *gee whiz kewl* extra nacelle, which "naturally makes it go *like, infinity + 1 fast*.

No no no. The reason I like it is because (like many others have said as well) I do find the Galaxy Class to be very top heavy. It looks like it needs bottom mass to look even.

Adding that extra nacelle, at least to my eyes, adds that needed bottom mass, so the ship looks more symmetrical, in a sense.

The cannon doesn't bother me, since the Galaxy isn't known as a really powerful warship, but the cannon gives it that battle edge it needs. I could live without it though.

I definitely don't like the antennae on the top, I could certainly do without those. Overall I like the upgrade though.
