Surely this has nothing to do with the massive success of Marvel's recent space-based superhero film.
While I'm a fan of the Legion of Super-Heroes and would love to see them on the big screen, this feels like another desperation move from Warner Bros. They're rushing so hard to catch up with Marvel that I'm worried they'll end up ruining the party for everyone.

I really doubt they see it as any kind of competition. More than likely WB just wants to cash in on the same superhero wave that everyone else is profiting from right now.
