GAGA for GAGA

well...I took my wife to see LADY GAGA on Saturday here in San Diego and I have to say? I liked it. Yes, it was a bit "out there" and all that, and the crowd was, shall we say, very flamboyent (spelling?)..but all in all she gave us a great show even though she referred to us as SAN JOSE a couple times.

I am actually impressed with her voice. On her slower numbers, mainly speechless, she actually has a very strong voice. Unlike her shrill peers (in essense everyone) she sings songs that just dont have three base chords and could be sung by anyone..

I actually think she has a better voice than Gwen Stefani, who I like too. But Stefani comes of very, well, nasal, even more so than GAGA. But both are very good...but I think Gaga is better...

And, most importantly? SHE DIDNT LIP SYNCH..she sang. And that was impressive. I saw Janet Jackson YEARS ago and she didn't sing half the time. But JJ still put on a great show...

so...imagine me...old fart that I am...sitting behind two hot lesbians groping each other, watching GAGA, and being elbowed by my wife for two hours....fun fun fun...

There wasn't any lasers or exploisions..JUST singing and dancing and sexy outfits and weird wigs..and lesbian kissing...loved it...fun night!! I feel hip now!!

Turn in your guy card...

What I like best about her is the fact that she unabashedly embraces weird. Everything about her is so out there whether her fashion, her videos--she strikes me as an enigma in more ways than one.

She isn't just another cookie-cutter pop star--she is in charge of everything in her career and that to me is refreshing in a decade of unrelenting onslaught of superficial crap. She'll never be considered a great songwriter and I think she relies a bit too much on spectacle but compared to what else is out there she stands out in a good way.

She has an amazing voice but her choice of music isn't to my taste.

Sort of like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. They have amazing voices and yet in the 'second' half of their careers they seem to have gone down a different road.

At first I was a little embarrassed to admit I liked her. I guess it was the whole "gay guy finds another Madonna clone" thing, which I refuse to be a part of. (My therapist is making a killing off of me.) But then I realized she wasn't Madonna or another Britney Spears. She actually has talent. If you strip out all the production and glamor from her songs, they are still great songs. Plus she actually sings. Now that is something almost unheard of these days. So I have put down my guard and let the GAGA in... and I can't get enough of her. I have played "Bad Romance" over and over for almost a month and still want more. (Who knew I had it in me. Do I have to turn in my man card too?)

PS> I still prefer acts like Julian Casablancas and Sondre Lerche.

Top 40 can suck my warp core.

I have always been fan of the so called TOP 40..from the Beatles, to Manilow..from the POLICE to Prince...and even, yes, Air Supply and Genesis...

But i do understand the fans of alternative music; my son is one. I love to torture him these last few days by playing JOSH GROBIN and ANDY WILLIAMS christmas songs!!!

She's awesome. I love her.

We should go see her next time she's around.

I want in.

I won my tickets from a local radio contest so i got lucky..it was free and we got good seats. I did take my wife to dinner after the show and we walked along the beech...mainly to calm down from the noise of the concert and screaming crowd..

I think we were the oldest people in our section of seats!!!
