sorry but I don't know about TOS or Enterprise and the rest of TNG, but it is unlikely that Enterprise has G rated one or the G rated row of episodes

What does that even mean? The shows were made to be aired on broadcast TV when anyone could watch them. By that standard they're ALL G rated in an MPAA sense.

Topic are supposed to be matters for discussion, not what come across as Facebook status updates. What is the point of this thread? What do you wish to discuss?

I don't know, any episodes that should not be G

I'm finding this to be a bit incoherent, to be honest, but I'll try to bite:

The TNG episode "The Child" and the Enterprise episode "Fusion" should probably not be considered G rated because they deal with rape - especially the latter of the two.

I'd appreciate it if the OP would actually state what the point of this thread is and what we're supposed to be discussing, cause I sure don't see the point of this being here.

I'm assuming the OP's native language isn't English, which is probably leading to some of the confusion.

I think the question is about whether episodes that got a TV-G rating in the American TV ratings system, as opposed to TV-PG, TV-14 or TV-MA, are clustered together. I'm having trouble finding data to evaluate that, however, since the only source I can find that lists ratings is the iTunes store, and it seems to just list every episode as TV-PG. (Memory Alpha says "Carpenter Street" was the first episode of any Trek series to get a TV-MA rating, and iTunes lists that as TV-PG as well.)

Then I suggest you leave the thread, since it doesn't meet with your approval. Simply not posting would be better than the hostile approach demonstrated here.

Thank you, tafkats.

Here is some information that may be pertinent:

TV Parental Guidelines - FAQ said:
Who decides how a program is rated?
Programs are voluntarily rated by broadcast and cable television networks, or program producers.

[...]

Does a program carry the same rating week after week?
Programs are rated by episode and, therefore, may carry a different rating based on the content.

Why would a program be rated differently when being aired on different channels?
Programs are often edited for content when being aired on different channels and would be rated accordingly.

What is syndicated programming, and how is it rated?
Syndicated programs are those programs such as talk shows, game shows, and reruns of dramas and sitcoms first run by broadcast or cable networks, which are then licensed and aired by secondary outlets, such as local television stations. The distributor of such programs is usually responsible for rating them.

The ratings are described here.

I don't recall "The Child" dealing with rape. I'll have to review the episode.

It's sort of a Hail Deanna, Mother of God episode.

Yeah, I guess that's true, but still, she had her body invaded against her will.

I have to admit I kind of had "The Child" and "Man of the People" crossed up in my mind, though. It is the one that is more like "Fusion" in that respect.

I definitely think what happens in "The Child" qualifies as rape, though I don't know if that would have the same impact on its TV rating as "conventional rape" would. (And yes, I know that's an absolutely terrible phrase.)

Deanna being impregnated while she slept would be a form of sexual violation, and therefor rape.

Picard and Riker blowing Remmick's head apart was (to me) unusually graphic for Star Trek, especially because Remmick himself was a victim of the parasites. Definitely PG-13 material.

:)

I'm seeing TV-14 from Memory Alpha, as it doesn't seem too severe to warrant an MA.

For those of us that come from countries with different rating systems, could you explain what "G" means, please.
