G.I. Joe the Secret of Cobra-La pt. 9

The dude on the helicopter as it crashes through the building is hella tough.

I also like the teary "yo, joe".

I enjoyed this movie as a kid, and now as an adult there are so many more layers that entertain me (intentionally or not). :) What I always noticed, even as a kid, is how many story beats "Transformers: The Movie" and "G.I. Joe: The Movie" shared. Both have "new" leaders taking the place of older ones, both have a "big new threat(tm)" that was previously unknown and both introduce a gang of new characters into the mix who take center stage and of course a Macguffin device of some sort.

And I'm never going to be able to look at Cobra-La fighters the same way again. :)

the only bits i like are Beach Head training the noobs, particularly Law and Order and Law's 'adios, adios, adios' response to the Dreadnok's ''ello, 'ello, 'ello' line.

I love this film.

- I love the animation. I would sacrifice "smoothness" of more recent animation for characters and backgrounds that are drawn with proportions in mind, as they are here. Helps me think about the story, and not the characters' exaggerated proportions.
- I love the musical cues, which were repeated throughout the series. I love them all!
- Cobra-La was a coo, sci fi idea. It is not better than Cobra being a real terrorist organization, but it is a cool sci fi-type idea!

WTF? I thought I heard Mickey in there.

Golobulus was voiced by none other than Burgess Meredith, aka Mickey, Rocky's trainer.

And his last job was The Ripper video game. That sucks.
