G.I.Joe review on Film School Rejectshttp://www.filmschoolrejects.com/reviews/review-g-i-joe-the-rise-of-cobra.php

Frankly, I am not surprised. As two big surefire tentpoles - Terminator 4 and Transformers 2 - disappointed largely with their high expetations, I think it is ironic that a movie that was being badmouthed ever since the castings were announced is going to be better than the aforementioned two. Now I could be wrong, but three surefire movies disappointing back to back would be abysmal. Here's hoping!

 I have been looking forward to GI Joe more than Terminator.. and been heckled because of that.. hehehhe...

This is going to be a really fun movie. Aside from Star Trek, this was really the only other summer movie this year I've been looking forward to.

I've read 3 or 4 reviews so far and they have all good things to say about the movie and all point out that the trailers don't do it justice.

I liked Terminator and Transformers but the trailer for this doesn't look so great. The CGI looked pretty cartoony. Of course I like Sommers' previous flicks so I hope to be surprised.

Just keep the expectations superlow... makes it all sweet when it turns out to be good.

I have also read several reviews...and they've all been surprisingly positive.

I thought the trailer made it look like the cartoon...cheesey, kitschy, childlike fun. Underwater bases, ninjas, men wanting to take over the world, secret organizations with super tech...what's not to like?

I'm looking even more forward to it now.

the Sunday Mirror gave it 3/5 and called it 'loud, OTT, violent and fun'. the reviewer in particular said it had a good cast considering the cliched dialogue, although he said Ecclestone wasn't too good and Quaid didn't have enough to do, and he said he enjoyed it more than ROTF.

typically, i like stuff he does, but i like it more, so here's hoping.

That's an TrekBBS in-joke regarding the biggest (by far) defender of Terminator Salvation here.

;) OK, thats why it went straight over my head then. Not paid much attention to those threads.
