Futuristic Car In STXI Actually 230 MPG Prototype

I just don't understand why we can't have 230mpg vehicles that don't look like stupid. Even the current hybrid vehicles on the market, like the Prius, just scream "I'm an eco friendly gas miser, look at me look at me!" All I want is good gas mileage in a normal looking vehicle. Why is that so difficult to do?

in a word: Aerodynamics

The entire concept of transportation must be completely reinvented.

Check out the new Loremo from Germany. It's a bit more traditional looking, but there are reasons that these high efficiency vehicles tend to look the way they do.

The flat front end doesn't work.

The "normal looking" cars of 2008 look pretty dorky by 1970s standards - like they're going to try to burrow forward into the ground.

It's OK; a few people in that thread missed it, too. Just giving credit where credit is due.

OK, OK, I get it. I started a thread about something that had already been posted. Jeez, the forum police are out in force. Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse meeeeeeeeeeee for not reading every post in every thread. Like you never repeated yourself or something that someone else said. :p

Honda makes a perfectly normal looking Civic Hybrid. 45 mpg highway and it doesn't look like something Woody Allen drove in "Sleeper":

As for me, I'll stick with my "brilliant red Barchetta".

Excuse accepted. :p

No, my posts are always quite original.

*goes on to post another "Best of Season X" thread*

I want one of them cars.

What I like the best for it's Trek adventure is that the back end reminds of the 1701's Impulse Engines. :)

You have to wait until either the Germans or the Italians design a hybrid... they design good-looking cars. The below image is all the proof we need that the Japanese cannot and should not design cars.

Is that the next XB? I like the overall design right up to where the side mirrors stop. The rest is just 'fugly'. I do like the wheels, however.

I don't think it would be TOO bad it weren't for that ugly orange color that makes it look like a plastic toy.

When they also, by pure coincidence, made the original Nissan S-30/Fairlady Z/Datsun 240-Z and the Toyota 2000GT?
