If you look around the net, you might have noticed the new Futurama movie popping up...
So what do you think? I think it was far superior to the first one, no whacky singin, no pointless cameos... Fun jokes, good ideas... And the ending is very good :) Bring it on!

I havent seen it yet, waiting for the actual dvd to come, but I liked the singing in the last one, I'll be disappointed if there's none in this one.

I liked it very much, although I thought it dipped in quality about three-quarters of the way though. But it soon picked up again.

Can someone summarise the gist of the story? is it related to the first one at all, or is it a standalone thing entirely?

And I love the singing in the first one, especially the Santa/Hanukkah Zombie/Kwanzabot workshop bits.

The story picks up where the previous one leaves off. The rift at the end of Bender's Big Score is essential to this one's plot. As for the singing, one of the early reviews has stated that there are no musical numbers in The Beast with the Billion Backs.

I'm 20 minutes in, this movie is freakin' great. Far better than the first DVD movie. I feel like I'm watching an episode from season 3 or 4 I'd never seen before.

Can't wait to pick up the DVD and hear the commentary.

That was a hell of a ride! I love sci-fi, where else can you see an entire universe fall in love with a what ever the hell that thing was.

Just got done watching it, liked it very much. But I really liked what they did with the credits, not really a big part, but was good.

Can you tell from the early copy whether or not the animation itself is any better than Bender's Big Score? It just seemed off to me, like they cut more corners than in the original series.

The movies are made in Korea, it saves on budget. They had to fire a lot of the musical people if I remember correctly but the animation looked fine to me and no one important was laid off.

Yep; starting with "Big Score", the orchestra was eliminated; from that point forward, the music was done completely by computer. The other thing cut was several 3-D computer graphic sequences the producers wanted to do, but the traditional 2-D animation wasn't affected by any budget cuts.

All in all, I forgive "Big Score" since the producers were having to shake the bugs of the new format while also getting back into the grove after being in production limbo for a couple of years. I had figured that the second movie would have things more back on track, and it sounds like that was a good assumption to make. :)

Brilliant - though I don't think it flows as well as Bender's Big Score, but just as hilarious none the less.

"I didn't know I could do that."

I thought it was fantastic. I liked Bender's Big Score, but this was on another level. I laughed my arse off pretty much all the way through.

I've even changed my sig accordingly. :D

They're not tentacles, they're gentacles.

Me and my mate were laughing our arses off all the way through too. Now I'm tempted to watch the back to back.
