Furries

Do you guys fur-up for Hallowe'en (those of you who do wear the ears and the tail)? Since everyone's dressed in costumes anyway, do you take advantage of the opportunity?

That's...a really good question. I've never hard any information either way, to be honest. There is a Halloween-themed furry con, though, called FurFright. So, maybe.

I actually haven't done so for quite a few years. I go to a couple of anime cons and 1 fur con a year to which I usually wear my ears, paws, and tail. I like to switch it up for Halloween.

Well it would be a good time to try it out for the first time - no-one would think twice about you picking an animal for a costume. I mean, they're even advertising Trek uniforms in the local flyer for the Hallowe'en costume shop, and if Trek is mainstream costume material then ears and a tail are nothing ;)

Hmm... Trek uniform with ears and a tail...

There's precedent.

Best character to ever come out of TAS.

Oddly enough, I find her character model rather off-putting in the original show; it's other artist's reinterpretations of her (like the above from Jennifer Anderson) to make her shine. With sexiness.

I hope you're happy, The Dead Nations! You were right all along! :scream:

Actually, I agree. I dislike the animation they used in TAS. I'm not sure what it was, but it seemed to be the most bland, unremarkable animation possible. The interpretation above, as you would agree I think, is gorgeous.

"Limited animation." Live it. Learn it. Love it. Okay, not that last part.

Confession time: I've never watched any of TAS. So my evaluation of M'Ress has nothing to do with the animation, and everything to do with the styling. Frankly, I think the TV version's face is ugly. She looks like a cat in all the wrong ways.

Mmm. Yes. :adore: She...well.

I love how we're totally not helping our "it's not all about sex" arguments at all here, incidentally. In the interests of staying productive here, I think what contributes to my finding anthro art (of the right kind) sexy is that cute cartoon animals make me feel happy inside, and as such I tend to associate them by proxy with other things that make me happy, like pretty ladies. Basically, they're two flavors of the warm fuzzies that go well together, like hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Hey, I don't care. We like what we like.

Check this out. With my very limited drawing skills I gave it a shot:

Forgive the shading, I was basing it on the animation style from the series, just a little adjusted. M'ress is awesome. :adore:

Yes, but isn't it fun to know why?

Your drawing, BTW, reminds me what bothered me bout her original appearance--there's something inhuman about the eyes and where her upper lip meets her nose. Personal preference, I guess.

In my opinion, too sharp. When I drew the eyes, like I said, I based it on the original TAS animation. Her eyes are too sharp and I don't like the simple method the mouth.
