While not necessarily a howler, I find the double team that McCoy and Scotty ran on Tomar, first getting him to wolf down those delectable looking colored cubes, and then getting him soused on Saurian brandy and some green stuff, is pretty amusing.

Why didn't they just clonk him over the head with a plaster skull like Kirk did to Spock in 'Mirror, Mirror'?

Actually, Nimoy says it the same way the one time he uses the term. Both he and Shatner say "Met-rones" but Vic Perrin pronounces it "Met-ron." Outnumbered. Perrin screwed it up for my money.
