Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movie?

Re: Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movi

"In range?" - "Not yet sir." - "Come on, come on." - "She'll fly apart!" - "Fly her apart then!"

Re: Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movi

(as Galia is opening her legs for a Kirk docking procedure):

Kirk: "It's.........green"

Re: Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movi

Mister Spock, can that be one of their crew?!?!

Absolutely I will not interfere!

McCoy's classic line to Kirk in "Balance of Terror"
"In this galaxy there's a mathematical probability of three million Earth type planets, and in all the universe three million million galaxies like this, and in all of that, and perhaps more, only one of each of us. Don't destroy the one named Kirk."

But there are more than one of each of the characters - there were two Spock's in the last movie alone!

And someone did destroy the one named Kirk, all the way back in 1994 - it was Malcolm McDowell!

Risk is our business.

Re: Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movi

McCoy: Hey buddy, I heard you needed cheering up. *does a little jaunty dance*

Spock: *bursts into tears*

McCoy: Wow... I guess I need to work on my act.

Re: Fun classic Trek lines you would like to see in the next Trek movi

"Shut up, Spock - we're rescuing you!"

Yes. Great character moment anyway. That one line speaks volumes about McCoy and his relationship with Spock.
I thought the same thing, and there are so many things which could be done with it while retaining the basic elements of:

McCoy: impatience/irritation/irascibility coloring genuine concern
Spock: acerbic/sarcastic response
Kirk: wordless reaction shots to both

That's a money note, right there, if done just right. Even if not using the identical line--and I'd actually prefer they didn't dredge up too many more old lines for "OK, remember this one?" purposes--I'd still like to see a moment which explores the same kind of territory just as effectively as did that one moment in 'The Immunity Syndrome'.

Why is something we don't understand always called a thing???

Unfortunately, this dynamic may be lost in new Trek. McCoy is viewed by Spock merely as Kirk's friend. I hope the Kirk/Spock/McCoy relationship is being championed somewhere at Bad Robot this time. Even upon later viewings, I still miss the Trinity.
