Damn, you beat me to it! I was on my way to post this very news!

I'm very excited to hear more of these characters but especially The Fugitive Doctor!

I wonder if this means we won't see anymore of The Fugitive Doctor after the Centenary special.

Kevin McNally actually confirmed he was doing a Professor Jericho series months ago. (I'm sure he got told off soon after.)

Also Nick Briggs was talking about their 60th Anniversary plans and said that they had recorded a lot already but wouldn't be able to finish until the autumn. *wink-wink*

(For anyone who doesn't know, they can't do anything with the current Doctor until after their last episode airs.)

Well, being on big finish didn't stop by either Ace or Tegan from returning.

My one concern is that BF won't be able to resist their crossoveritus and will be bringing as many other Doctors and Masters (and River and the Monk and the Eleven and...) into the stories as they can get to sign on.

Yes, but my point is Big Finish wasn't allowed to use new series characters until they were done on the main show.

That said, Kate and Osgood have their own Big Finish series and yet they kept returning. So I guess it's not a hard and fast rule.

I think that was because Kate and Osgood were introduced during Smith's run, therefore when his term ended and Big Finish got access to the stuff introduced within that timeframe, that meant they could use Kate and Osgood despite them still appearing with Capaldi.

Legally speaking, BF probably could have used Clara even while she was still on the show with Capaldi, they just chose not to.

The general principle is that they can use any elements from a previous Doctor’s tenure, but I would imagine the contractual details are actually more complicated than that. And it’s important to remember that the license defines the things BF might be allowed to use. Any individual proposal will still need to be approved by the BBC, which would certainly not have allowed them to use Clara even if the license terms technically permitted it.

I would guess that this means RTD doesn’t have major plans for the Fugitive Doctor, but that doesn’t mean she won’t ever show up on TV again.

I'm pleasantly surprised we are getting these characters so soon. Very interested to see what they will do with the Fugitive Doctor.

eeurgh, normally i love the Big Finish Who announcements but these two characters left me cold on TV and i can't see it being different on Audio so these are a definite swerve for me..............which is good news for the wallet at least.

We can take that as a sign that if the Master comes back later, it'll be a new one.

Perhaps, but I hope not. I don't like how in the modern era of Who, each incarnation of Doctor seems to have their own incarnation of the Master. I know that Simm crossed over into the Missy era, but it was still more Missy's story.

Taken in the Big Finish car park today. Not for the same story. Or so they say...
[IMG]The funny thing is by the end of her first BF episode she'll have done twice as much as she did on TV.

I was just thinking about a Fugitive/River story...

River: Which one are you again? I don't know where you fit...

Fugitive: You're my... what? My wife? Girl, you are so not my type...

    :luvlove::luvlove::luvlove::luvlove::luvlove::luvlove::luvlove:

It's sad to see Davison getting old, but I hope he got a good script to be enthusiastic about. Will be ordering when this comes out.

Still wish they did the obvious with the narrative and just let Jo be a future complete TV incarnation; audiences seemed to appreciate her portrayal. It's as ridiculous to say "She's in the Chibnall era so it must all be forgotten" as it is to say "this toenail's got a dimple so let's throw out the entire body."
