I keep seeing ads on tv for a new series of this coming this month (history channel?) but I can't see anything about it online. Are they simply replaying the old series but rebranding it... somehow?

(Yes I know, FTETTM isn't sci fi...)

Seems likely that it's simply 'New series (on this channel's schedule)'.
Either that, or it's come from a parallel universe (and/or the future) where there's more moonflights to cover.

Pretty sure it's the 11 year old Tom Hanks produced Miniseries, produced for HBO shortly after "Apollo 13" came out. An excellent series BTW. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120570/

EDITED TO ADD:
Tom Hanks presents From The Earth To The Moon, the dramatic story of the unforgettable Apollo missions and their heroic astronauts, from President John F. Kennedy’s historic speech, through the first manned expeditions into space, to the defining moment of the space program – putting man on the moon. Powerfully told as never before through the unforgettable performances of Cary Elwes, Sally Field, Chris Isaak and many more, these are the stories of the men, women and children who lived, breathed and manufactured from the power of human will one of the greatest achievements in the history of mankind.
