Olivia, Walter and Peter are brought in to try and stop a killer with the ability to liquefy the human brain.

It looks like they are working on some character development for Peter, there was an almost Mary Sue abundance of it here, but I thought the episode itself was rather pedestrian and not up to Fringe's usual creepy superscience standards.

I loved it when walter started telling Olivia to always use condoms! That had me howling. I sure love his character. :bolian:

How was this even connected to 'The Pattern'? It was just one lone guy who happened to be REALLY good at programming computers.

I don't think it was related at all, except in that the case was so out there that they automatically assigned it to them. They did that many many times with the X-Files, went off the main storyline. For this show to get 20+ episodes a season they are going to have to do the same thing I would imagine. Have many cases that are not pattern related.

So far i would say 9 out of 10 have been pattern-related. This is a break from that.

Bureaucrat guy really needs to go. Unless he turns out to not be what he seems, he's just another stock character right out of 24 who butts heads for no reason other than to bring the plot to a screeching halt and be an ass for the sake of being an ass.

Do you think they'll ever get James Van Der Beek to guest star?

Nice little episode. I enjoyed it.

RedTape man is annoying but I think there is more to him than just being the token asshole. We'll see.

And is it me or did we see the beginning of a love triangle ? Peter-Olivia-Olivia's sister ?

Hopefully not.
