I've always felt that they would need four seasons, but I think that JJ Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have an opportunity to finally do what they have never, ever, ever done and that is to quit while they are ahead. Best sci-fi on TV, end it right.
It wouldn't bother me so much if this season is the last season concerning there is only a limited amount of directions the show can go before it over-extending itself story-wise.
Well, I've been a big Fringe-fan from the start, but I think that it's time to end it with this season. To be honest, I'm not sure where'd they go with it after this season, with the dual reset realities they've created.
Yeah, they need to wrap this up. I like Walter, Peter and Astrid and the Observers, but I just don't care about Olivia all that much. Now that all the "realities" are meshed, it's time to pull it all together and end it.
Yep,
So far this season feels like its on auto-pilot. Like they got renewed for season 4 when they only planned 3. Now it seems like they dont know what they want to do.
While I'm relatively sure that there IS a plan, I have to agree with you, it doesn't feel like Team Abrams knows what it wants to do. Hopefully, with Jackson's return to the show full-time on the 28th, the story will begin to pick up and they'll return to the how and why of the Machine.
I must admit I'm rather consoled to them only having four seasons. a fifth season might be nice, but I highly doubt the ratings could sustain it, and it also runs the risk of disappearing Lost-style up its own time space continuum. so, I guess four seasons is all right...
