I voted 'Average'. Not the best Fringe, but not the worst either.

Just kinda... Average.

;)

See you guys next week.

Not what I would've come back with after the break (well, we did have last week's bonus episode). It wasn't bad just not as enjoyable nor intriguing as Fringe usually is. It had a couple of great moments especially between Walter and Astrid but overall was left wanting a lot more. Next week's looks good but not arc related. We need an arc episode sooner rather than later especially since we only have four episodes (five, if you count the bonus one) until April 1st.

So I'm just now watching this, but I kept waiting for Peter to say that wasn't the first guy he killed. If nothing else, it could've tied to episode where he and only he was able to use the "other world observer gun" to kill the hitman.

So the werewolf Walter encountered in London, do you figure it was of the David Naughton or Warren Zevon variety?

This was a fairly average X-Files episode. It was an X-Files evening, between this and the X-Files tribute Bones did right before it.

So I screwed up my VCR timer and missed the episode. Did anything arc-important happen?

Absolutely nothing arc-based in this episode. If not for Walter at the start still dealing a bit with (and mentioning) his getting lost in Chinatown you could almost say that this episode was the 'lost' episode that aired back on Monday because it could have fit into last season.

I liked this episode a lot.
I also waited for Peter to say this wasn't his first kill.
And, i am thinking Walter is getting closer to telling Peter the truth about where he really came from.

The plot was decidedly average. But damn if I'm not growing to really, really like these characters. Also, this episode, more than most from Fringe actually had a thematic message: looking beyond exteriors to see the true person within. Nice touch.

Once again, a substandard plot is saved by great character moments and, this time, a story that actually means something.

"Above Average."

It's funny that with all the goofiness in this episode (and any episode) of Fringe the thing that bothered me most is that they weren't wearing seat belts when they had their crash.
