Julie McNiven played Pete's secretary, Hildy, on Mad Men, and she played Anna the fallen angel in human form on Supernatural. She got laid by Dean in the back of the Impala.

Also, Ginn on Stargate Universe. Didnt recognise her at all...

Me neither, and now I'm kicking myself!

I'm wondering if they're setting it up for Peter to steal his kid from over there like Walter stole him. I'm ambivalent towards the idea, but it has a certain symmetry to it.
I knew I knew her from some where, So I had to pause the ep,while I googled her.

I would hope the weapon that Peter is supposed to use, wipes out everything from that universe from both sides so the simple solution of stealing his kid and bringing him to our uiniverse is not the way out because its a death sentance still and the only way would be to choose our verse to go boom or whatever the weapon does.

of course we will probably never find out :(

Last week I was thinking, wow, the fate of 2 universes rests on a romantic relationship? That's the kind of fearless that I admire about Fringe. (Even though it no doubt annoys the noromos.)

This week, as soon as Frank points the ultrasound wand at FauxLivia's belly, I know she's pregnant. And I'm... :wtf: This backs up Sam's statement to Nina last week about not being sure Peter will pick our Olivia, but it seems so... not-fearless.

Unless it's some grand scheme by Walternate, sending FauxLivia Over Here to seduce Peter, get pregnant, and make sure he goes back Over There of his own free will. Except nobody has been playing it that way. :( Which makes FauxLivia pretty dopey. Mata Hari doesn't get pregnant! Especially with a boyfriend back home.

A few weeks ago, the episode where the Observer is pointing his Whammo weapon at Peter and says, "It must be difficult, being a father..." Someone at another board wondered at the point whether FauxLivia was pregnant. I thought, naw, they wouldn't do something so conventional, would they?

I do like the notion mentioned upthread of a parallel situation where Peter is compelled to steal his child from the other universe.

And alt-Brandon gives me the creeps. "I'll know more after I've dissected his brain..." Who knew Walternate would end up looking more morally upstanding than mad-scientist Brandon? Although Walternate seemed to be regaining his creep factor in that last scene with FauxLivia.

Ah, crap; the ratings have now dropped below 4.0, and is sitting at 3.71 http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/02/12/tv-ratings-friday-fringe-falls-further/82440

I guess this will now mean curtains for Fringe :wah:. Looks like yet another show that won't have an ending; why even bother watching serialized television anymore?:brickwall:

Yeah, I think every year I give up on TV a little more. I could easily see myself not watching more than 1-2 hours of TV total a week in the next couple years and even that may dwindle down to nothing in favor of books and other activities.

(Other than during Football season, of course. :) )

It's Fox's fault, they should have kept Fringe after House.
I don't think it is all about timeslots. Ultimately it comes down to writing and when the show can't even retain its baseline of regular fans I really don't blame FOX--afterall it got three seasons--the writers just screwed around on a bunch of stupid standalones and an uninteresting romance--did they not learn a thing from ENT.

Agreed. I was really pumped for the most part with what they did in Season 2 and the first half of Season 3. This romance crap/stand alone stuff is pretty boring. What makes it even worse than usual is that they appear to be pulling those crappy threads into the main arc virtually guaranteeing we have to endure this stuff the rest of this season.

"Rawr! I hate stand alone crap, especially when they make it part of the main arc which, by definition, makes it not stand alone! But I don't care about such logic! Kissing is icky! Rawr!"

So, I'll attempt to parse out the salient points from your oh-so-clever "rebuttal" and provide a response in context so you can follow along this time.

First off, I don't mind stand alone episodes from any show, provided they're done well. However, by most accounts, Fringe doesn't seem very well equipped to make compelling hours where the main story line in the episode isn't directly tied to the Alt-Universe/First People thread. Granted, this is purely a subjective assessment that I and others share, but that is, after all, the point of discussing shows like this on a board of this nature......dialog with others about what you think about a particular show.

Secondly, you seem to think that any mention of any kind to main Alt Universe thread makes that episode not a stand alone. Fine, in this particular case the main (or "A") storyline was the bug guy trying to complete his research and the "B" storyline was FauxLivia's feelings about Peter and her boyfriend on her own side. Storyline A isn't connected with the main arc at all which is why most people would classify this a "stand-alone" episode even though storyline B is connected.

However, rather than quibble over minutia on what's considered "stand-alone" and what's not, I'll just say that I found both the quantity of time and quality of that time spent on the main arc very lacking regardless of whether you want to label this episode stand-alone or not. Most people are not enjoying this love triangle and how much focus their relationship is getting.......mostly because it's not been written very well unlike some other amazing relationships like in Farscape or Bab5.

Finally, "kissing is icky"........if you really think that, then your not doing it right. ;)
