I really like that Peter's disappearance really allowed the rest of the cast to come more to the forefront.



Well, it certainly allowed for the changes in their characters, the subtle nuances between the people they are now as opposed to the original versions. On both sides.
 
I wonder if this theoretical third universe is where they're headed for Season 5.

Oh dear, I hope not. Five seasons, four different universes? Plus, I don't think 13 episodes is long enough to flesh out yet another universe.
 
So did the dude kill his sister or not?

Yeah, when we first met Nick in season 2, he was able to control people, make them kill themselves. Just by being around them. His emotional state was "Contagious". So by considering suicide, his sister killed herself instead.
