Alt Olivia putting her head on Walter's shoulder didn't seem right

Heh, war against the Observers? Just like in"Brown Betty". Wasn't that episode the nineteenth episode a couple seasons ago?
Good episode. Next week's episode looks awesome.

The child seems to be a greater cost to Broyles ... but I liked how he had a sense of honor that led him to surrender to our Broyles. It was that and the Bolivia getting drunk that made the episode stand up - all about those small moments. 
I liked this episode, although I was somewhat disappointed to learn that DRJ has guilted Broyles into being his pawn through medicine for his child. It's an interesting parallel because Walter went to extremes to save his own son and now AltBroyles is doing likewise. Still, I had suspected for the longest time that AltBroyles was a shapeshifter, and I never expected him to be the type of character that would submit to aiding an enemy. But I also have to think about the fact that it is the life of his child that is at stake, and we saw earlier that Walter would clearly do anything to save Peter.
Lincoln's funeral was saddening, as I expected. He had a great impact on the lives of these characters, and now he's gone (or is he?).
I found the Walter/Altlivia scene to be rather touching, especially since Walter's been less than welcoming to her presence before. I think that it's great to see that the bridge is not only healing the universes, but also healing relationships.
And am I the only one who found it really interesting that Walter was wearing a suit during a lot of his time Over There, how very Walternate of him
I adored the Astrid scene (and our Astrid giving AltAstrid coffee was priceless!)
The disappointment for me was in the science of this episode. Walter says that he doesn't know why these things are happening, and when he gives an explanation as to why a death in one universe kills the same person in the other universe, we just get that they're 'linked'. I don't know about the rest of you, but those events screamed 'quantum entaglement' to me.
All in all though, a great episode. And next week's promo? Wow, looks like a good one

Ah, a not so obvious Lost reference. Bolivia had 108 suspects on her list. 108 being the sum of the Lost numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.
And why do you think Jones wants to collapse the universes? Does he want to separate the original ones for some reason, or create a new one?
I'd hate that to be his objective because then Dr. Evil would seem like a more sensible villain.
the best ep out of the last 4 episodes aired--it wasn't great by any stretch but it was one thing the preceding three episodes haven't been--entertaining. Granted it is only set-up but it was entertaining nonetheless. The downside though is Fringe's track record with providing a satisfying payoff--it can set up all the intriguing set-up they want and has been repeatedly demonstrated can't provide satisfying development or resolution to them i.e. The First People, The Machine, Where Peter was this season Why Peter continued to exist even after being erased, Sam Weiss etc etc
So I fully expect to be letdown when the season wraps up when it comes to how everything plays out--this is one element the Fringe scribes have successfully replicated from their Lost predecessor.
But I will say for all the show's faults--from the episodes I've watched especially this one the actors and writers have been doing a great job in the interpersonal interactions whether Walter and alternate Olivia at the apartment or what have you--too bad this wasn't present in the earlier seasons as it might have helped me take more of an interest in them.
I liked the revelation Col Broyles wasn't a shapeshifter but the actual person who was being bribed with treatment for his ailing son--although the emotional beats expected from this fell flat I thought.
I'll give this week a Good. I will say the promo for next week is definitely intriguing and puts a more ominous spin on the Observers.
